It is a Saudi women topic that inspired me especially the part on freedom of choice regarding what to wear. I would like to ask a question on another subject to all you noble ladies here at TA. When you dress up sexy, wear nice make-up how do you feel when you notice guys eying you from head to toe, turning their heads as you pass and so on? From a man's point of view I don't see anything wrong about the fact that I take a longer look at a beautiful girl. However when a conversation with a few girls touched that subject I heard that they dislike it when they are sort of judged. I don't know why actually. I mean I understand and acknowledge the fact that women don't like to be trated solely as sexual objects, as things. But then again when you dress up in a sexy manner you can't expect men to turn their heads away pretending they don't care about your exposed legs, butt, breasts. I would also like to point out that few times it happened that girls eyed me from head to toe with approval of course (if you want to comment - shut up. I know it was with approval :) ) I really felt my ego boost sky high. Seriously it was a pleasant feeling especially that those girls were more than worth hanging my eyes on them. So how do you feel in such situations ladies?

PS. I seriosly hope that we have more ladies here and not only Windmills. I wouldn't like all this typing to go for nought.

Her computer was either broken, or she ran out of money to pay the monthly internet fee. She said that she would go the public library and use that computer, which she did once or twice, then nothing.....

Well, Dragoon, it is a double edged sword, to be sure. Women claim to want to be respected for their minds, not for their bodies, and at the same time, they also want to be noticed physically. It's a strange dynamic - one that we'll just have to chalk up to the fact that most women - and what's more, most people - live with such contradictions on a daily basis, and we just learn to accept them.
Humans are still animals, after all, and so we're still prone, as civilized as we think we are, to the same primal desire to attract a mate and reproduce. So, much like many other species on earth, we engage ourselves in competitions to put our best genetic assets forward, and try to increase our chances of mating. Showing off superior breasts, legs, etc. is comparable to peacocks vying for a mate with the most grandiose tailfeathers and strut.
In a roundabout way, I'm just saying that we humans are torn between the visceral and the civilized. There's the animalistic side, that just wants to *fuck* and *fuck now*, and as much as we disguise it, we go through quite an ordeal to present ourselves as fertile, available mating prospects. And then our unique human side kicks in, and we want to be seen as more than this - as inteligent evolved creatures with more to offer than just the satisfaction of our primal lust.
Can we have it both ways? I'm not sure. But it's been that way since the dawn of humanity itself - but especially after the feminist revolution. So suffice it to say that we're still in the process of deciding which we want. ...so typical of us ladies, isn't it? - not being able to make up our minds. ;-)

Ct0fDiscord, Darkwalker thanks for answers "ladies". :p

Windmills you managed to avoid direct answer in each and every of your 4 paragraphs - you would be a good politician. Seriously though I am full aware of the contradiciton what I wanted to know is how women from this board feel in described situation. I do realise that it would be too much to expect a simple answer from a woman ;) but tell me you feel more often. Do you feel pissed of at guys eying you or flattered or perhaps neither.

If it's anything like guys, it would depend on the person doing the looking.

Let's face it, if you like the look of someone, you'll be more likely to be pleased they're taking notice of you. If you are not attracted, the attention is less likely to be welcome.

Yeah. I agree with Sheriff there.

I also see Windmill's one point about the animal instinct thing. I mean, come-on, when I walk into a public place, and the females just immediately start undressing me with their eyes, I am extremely put off. I mean, I'm not just a piece of meat.¹ I have feelings too, dammit.

¹Complete and utter bullshit. I like nothing more than just "being a piece of meat".

Now it's about time you woke up.

Yep that really feels good. I don't know why women claim they don't like it.

True, Dragoon. I did waltz right around it. ;-) Precisely because, as I hinted at - I can't make up my mind. It depends on my mood really.

Some days I'd be flattered. Others, I'd inflict serious and irreperable head trauma on the fucker who tried it. Perhaps it has something to do with the phases of the moon, or the time of the month....

Anyway, my demeanor somewhat hinges also on the person doing the loooking, but in a different way than what Sheriff mentioned - It's not whether the person doing the looking is attractive or not - at least not *physically* so...

What it is, is more: If I know you're a well-rounded and respectful person with a head on your shoulders and more on your mind than just sex, if you look at me approvingly, I'm likely to be flattered. If you're a sex-crazed neanderthal who's eyeing me for the sole reason of bagging me in the back alley, you'll likely get a black eye or two.

If I'm not quite sure which way you're leaning, I unfortunately usually assume the latter. So you've been warned. ;-)

    Two things:

    1. Who is Zen? He must be B.R. (Before Retard)

    2.
Reminds me of a joke.. Why did cavemen drag women off by their hair?

So they wouldn't fill up with dirt.

Geeez, why can't you girls think in such an utterly simple manner like man? Oh wait, it sounded much better in my head.

This time I won't give a direct answer. :) Seriously though when I look at a beautiful girl my first thought isn't "Damn it you hot bitch, I want to fuck you". I have to admit however that I would be an utter liar if I denied the fact that when I turn my head after a girl I do so because of sexual drive. So I guess the answer is somewhere in the middle.

I can't speak for all girls, Dragoon. Just me. Could be a number of them *do* think in just as simple a manner as "men" (whose dispositions also vary, I'm aware) ;-)

In fact, I think I'm off the beaten path in some ways, from most women. I don't like "Macho" guys. I don't like ravishingly good looking guys (In fact, I tend to pre-judge really good looking guys as vain and stupid, even before I get to know them). Suave, charismatic men usually put me on my guard - I tend to not trust them, think they're up to something. My tastes in men are strange, because I've always had crushes on geeks and eccentrics. The more awkward and geeky, the better. If you knew what my previous relationships were, you'd see the list comprised almost exclusively of computer geeks, scientists, artists and musicians ("real" musicians - the symphonic and acoustic type). :)

So my tastes may not be a good indication of women as a whole. But take them for whatever they're worth.

Sorry zen. I just did a search. I remember ya now. Don't feel bad, see I suffer from acute short term memory loss, mostly because of the frequent beatings over the head I recieve from my wife. Welcome back. Hope you can stay a while.
