I am thinking about registering a private server for kali that will only have arcanum on it. I am hoping that I can get enough interest in the community of arcanum players that would enjoy roleplaying online within the game in a private server. If I can get about 40-60 people that are interested in weekly roleplaying nights on custom made mods I might invest the money for a t1 private server. It could be like a weekly gathering of Dungeons and dragons but with Arcanums game online. I know the Sierra servers suck so if you are interested contact me at kiljaedon@hotmail.com and check out http://www.kali.net
Sounds like a good idea, I'll be getting an upgrade in january so I'd join in, as long as it doesn't cost me anything that is...
Sierra's servers may be crap, but that doesn't really affect the game, now does it? I mean, the servers are used for matchmaking only, from there on the game's own net code and your connection are the only things that matter. Personally, looking at the current state of the game's multiplayer code, I'd say making a dedicated server for it would be a waste of time (and money). I suggest you first take a good look at whether or not something like this will actually run properly.
It would be nice to have an online Arcanum that one could log into and adventure with others on. But how would we schdule such a thing to insure maximum involvement and interaction for those interested?
