OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH............. So you're saying that all the time, while Senator Palpatine is jockeying for position in the Senate, he is the evil emperor??? I thought that he was going to become the emperor. I thought he was a good guy in the Phantom Mencace. Well that clears up something that has been bugging me since I watched the damn thing...

 

First, my dad thought "Attack of the Clones" was a joke, and i tend to agree, though i'll still watch it.

Second, Palpatine is probably just looking good while he plots behind the scenes, and he either is Darth Sideous(the guy who trained Maul) or he is in charge of him. At least thats what my Star Wars knowledge leads me to believe.

 

Senator Palpatine is Darth Sidious. If you watch the trailers for "Attack of the Clones" you will see one where they mention giving him control of the Senate and he creates the army to fight the clones. The army looks remarkably like StormTroopers don't they? Well anyway, he is the one who loosed the clones. So, he creates a war, gets rid of all the Jedis, takes control of the Senate, and sets himself up as the Emperor using the army that he created to get rid of the clones. He's my hero!! :nod:

 

And he is reffered to as "Emperor Palpatine" in episodes 4-6...

 

I didn't think he was in episodes 4-6...........

ThreeDogs, it is established for sure in Return of the Jedi. When he is talking to Luke about becoming his student. I also think that it will come out in this next movie.

That's because 4-6 take place about 30 years after the Clone Wars. Therefore the Emperor is a wrinkly old dude.
