Is that a hint to me Jinxed, or a general comment?

    I really hate it when...

    1. My crappy 56k connection won't load the TA site.

    2. I get addicted to playing Arcanum . Being a "repairman" (mechanical/smithy disciplines, max repair) is heaps of fun, fire elementals can be taken on with your best equipment, then you can repair it afterwards . I've never actually failed to repair an item yet.

I know. Geez. But you get to know people here and become friends. When suddenly one of them turns out to be psycho, it's a thing you remember.

If you'r gullible enough to buy into what some complete and anonymous stranger tells you over the internet, I`d say you deserve to be screwed over a bit...

The part about some of us being psychos, well that`s kinda' like having chilli in a bland soup innit'!?! It`s a heavy burden but someone`s got to carry it...

Fair enough, the facelessness makes deception easier, but the problem is with the psychos more than the people who believe them.

Even in meat-space, people can lie and cheat the people around them. How do I know the guy sitting next to me really is married with 2 kids? Should I assume he is lying?

Okay, so on the web you could decide to trust noone, but that would greatly limit its social/communication potential. I think a better answer would be to discourage the type of crazy mind-games that these sick people get such a kick out of.

How we might do that is a very complex issue and not one I should probably talk about on this forum. After all, Arcanum at least pays lip service to reality; I'm not sure the world I'm proposing does

When someone is creating a new 'perfect' world, then I'm sure they don't give a crap about reality .

For instance, when I'm thinking of my perfect world, I'm thinking of me, a desert island, a bunch of hot chicks and...wait, better not get into that .

Back on topic, yeah, there's a lot of psycho's on the internet, it's a haven for them. More than one person has wrecked their life becoming obsessed with chat rooms, and more than one person has gotten in deep shit for pretending to be someone they aren't/pretending to have a condition they don't/etc etc etc. Let's just hope that bryant/cigardude/whoever this guy is sorts himself out...
