I hope you like the fix I did on the old chain and extra logo - it kind of required fixing. any thoughts? edited: oh and the size of the thing, well Jinxed gets the part of seeing to it that it keeps the right size both logged in as logged out; that is a problem right now, as it looks better logged out then logged in - try it.
It looks nice. I just think the idea of it needs to be extended across the entire forum layout. IE: Including it behind the Topics, Posts and Last Post columns. That's odd that it changes sizes actually. I see what you mean though. If you change or make anything that requires the forum layout code to be mucked around with, I can do that if Jinxed is too busy. While you're at it... The gears that signify new/old posts need to be made see-through as at the moment, when you're in a forum, they're black backgrounds don't look right against the red.
Yup they do. That's on our "to do list" me and monkey have. It should be done pretty quickly. I'll get most of the art that has to do with vampire and TTOEE so that monkey feels the vibe. The front page needs to be made accordingly. edit: this is weird, I logged on today to see part of the T in the graphics on the right.
DU: It is the GMT/timezone at the bottom that does it - logged in and you get something else from the standard +1 GMT and the width gets changed.
Are you just going to leave that area on the forum index white, or are you going to add an image there?
I don't have access to the ftp, and I'm somewhat tired of coding, so I wont ask for it - the whiteline I hear is something J wanted Saint to fix - nothing happend from it - I'm guessing giving it to the people intrested in coding the job - if they want a colour for it, or a picture - I'll help. I guess they could use the ugly chain, but again I'm not going to go in a fix the html/php/css in the template myself, no.
There is no php in the template. I could fix it, although I'm certain noone would trust me enough to allow me to help.
I know there is not any php directly in the template - sorry if I confused you by adding PHP there, but I was thinking about the other files in phpBB. I'm guessing that one of my biggest problems when I write, I take it that people understand me without too much fuzz, and that they thus read btw the lines, as thats how I always aim to write. Knowing this I still enjoy doing it, as I have no problem with people not understanding me, nor I having a problem with I not understanding them - like the old saying - I wish I could find the man who has forgotten words so I could have a word with him. EDIT> me doing the swenglish thing, and lacking skills in english helps this process along the way - pretty neat, fairly scary, and I'm doing it like a child </ - of course some understanding is nice, but I do enjoy the abstract - say saying good instead of bad, big instead of small - playing with words, and I'll never write a manual.
transparancy issue solved. an other fix of some old problems done. Next: some button layouts - lets hear it for your opinions on what changes are needed now - and wich changes you don't wanna, or wich changes you can see in a distant future, but are not needed. ...and the white bar - well lets wait and see if some coder will fix that baby up.
I'd like to step in at this point and say that you guys are doing a great job revamping the look of this forum. Keep it up! Now all we need is a new HOL logo and we're set (rusty gears and molten rock clash in my humble opinion). . .
I can fix the white line. Did it at FMF for our template, so I should be able to do it again here. Just have to get home so I can FTP to the site and fix the PHP.
nice - oh and that reminds me to fix all the small icons as well - can't have running around in here can we?
There are a few ways to fix it. The first way is to simply change the color/image of it using the editor in the Admin Panel. The problem with this, however, is that it may result in other colors/images being changed as well. The second, and better, way is to edit the .tpl file and add the 'class="namehere"' attribute to the cell that is white. Then, in the css file for the template, make a css group for that class, probably by making a copy of one of the current css groups and then editing it, using specific colors where it would normally point to a string that would have a color value.
Yeah, it's its own value: Table Header Class 2. I changed it to the chains for now (tacellpic1.jpg). Gimme an image monkeypunch and I can upload it (call it tacellpic3.jpg). EDIT: Actually, you can upload yourself can't you or are you relying on someone else to change the graphics? Either way, I've set the value to 'tacellpic3.jpg' so as soon as you upload an image with that name into the same place as the others, it should pick it up.
Darkunderlord: as for now I'm happy staying outside, not having FTP access. Might change later if I start working with the templates. Xento: I can fix the problem - well I can't since I don't have access - if I had the files and wanted to, I don't - but thanks anyway. Hopefully DU can as well with him in charge of the new site *g* . EDIT: of course I'm talking about the code - in lead of the code of the new site, and I being as it looks - in the lead of the graph.
Sounds good. You know, I only just noticed that you've got a staff-based custom avatar. It looks good.
