Yes, definitely. Same baggy eyes, same facial structure, same expression.

That's Sogg alright. Has the same tangible hangover written all over his face. Nice find.

Interesting to see a well known face from a new angle.

How did you come across this, DE?

Wikipedia, as is usually the case. It started with my searching for something on Ku Klux Klan and ended with Benjamin Franklin Butler, whom I immediately recognized as the inspiration for Sogg.

An uncanny resemblance, I'd say. I wonder just how many historical figures were borrowed in this way?

The portraits that weren't based on Troika employees were likely all influenced by people remembered from the American civil war. Burnside was the model for the mutton chop gnome etc.

Though, I can't help to feel that Arronax could have been based upon Till Lindemann, the singer of Rammstein.

I could be a poor judge of appearances here, but I can't shake the feeling that there is a resemblance.

That is indeed a curious resemblance. That puts a whole new spin on Arronax for me. Especially as a Rammstein fan.
I also noticed while searching for images of Arronax to compare, Gamebanshee lists his race as human. Those poor bastards.

But we know he's an elf...why are we wrong too? Is that how he is in the game? I never really noticed.

Maybe in the unpatched version. Perhaps Drog fixed it.

That is true: Arronax's race was wrongly set as human in vanilla Arcanum, but Drog fixed it in the UAP.

That's why there's question marks after the "Human" on the TA page. It's not trying to say "Correct if wrong," It's more like "WTF?"

To be honest, that page deserves to be rebuild completely. It's crawling with mistakes.

Take Arronax for example. Our page states that he he puts his efforts into Divination, Fire, Force, Meta, Necromantic White, and Temporal and that he's level 45 when we meet him. The truth is, the only spells he knows are from the Fire and Force colleges, plus he's lvl 50.

Seriously, where did those four additional magick colleges and lvl 45 even come from?

Were I to guess the original blame goes with forgotten ancients such as Stonecourier or monkeypunch and early press releases. The fact that such errors still remain is a testament to my own inability to do anything in HTML.

It would be much simpler to make it dynamic, reading character data straight from the datafiles instead of constantly updating.

I don't like the layout of the page in general. The expanding buttons are too tiny, and it's not very efficient. I'd prefer a menu to choose from.

So, out of curiosity, isn't there a thread dedicated to this already? I think that might actually be a justifiable gravedig...
