So, I left the Isle of Despair without finishing it...

Yes, I know, I fucked up bad. (I left the Isle to retrieve spectacles to build the glasses, and then, well, you know). But, uh, can I continue the game then? Or have I committed an irreversible error? (I've only saved once, and that was right after the zeppelin crash. Everything thereafter was quicksaved. Yes, in retrospect, that was a stupid idea). I can't seem to teleport, and I can't think of any way to get back.

Oh, and hai. This is my first post. Kinda suprised me that an old game would still have an active community. But anyways.

Konnichiwa. Not sure why you're including random japanese in your posts, but ok.

You can still beat the game. Been a while since I played but there is a world map glitch that allows you to pretty much walk anywhere, including the Isle. Muro posted about it some time ago I believe. I forget where exactly you get a boat, but you should also be able to sail there.

U CANT HAS CHEEZBURGER CUZ U DOAN UNDERSTAND LOLCAT!

Returning to the matter under consideration, I believe that you can ask Raymond Pierce in Ashbury to make a pair of custom spectacles for you (ask him about what sort of wares he carries or somesuch). A tidy little sum of 1000 gold will have to change hands, I believe.

Hmm, Dark, it's actually not a problem of the spectacles, but of returning to the Isle. The captain of the ship has no option to sail back, and, well, teleportation does not work.

Sorry, misread your post there. My mind was shifted into automatic gear I guess.

    Awaiting Muro then.

Once you have the spectacles, you can continue on with the story. In fact, the game wouldn't let you leave the place without the spectacles/knowledge on how to create them.

There's a few side quests and some unique items on the IoD, but nothing important enough to start over, really.

Ah, I was under the false impression that the Wheel Clan was on the island. Probably should have looked at the map.

Indeed, skipping anything from the Isle other than the cathorn spectacles thingy won't make it impossible to continue and end the game. However, you will miss out a few interesting bits of Arcanum lore. The greatest miss is probably skipping one of the endings for one of the places in Arcanum.

Since this is your first playthrough and you don't know everything about the Isle's content, I would suggest saving your game and cheating yourself back to the Island (either by downloading Virgil's Debug Menu and using it or by using the method I described here) just so you could see and learn what is to be seen and learned on the Isle. You can load your game after that if you don't fancy cheating or taking advantage of glitches.

THanks, Muro, for pointing out the debug menu.
