As rroyo said, methane. Dinosaurs were around for hundreds of millions of years, pumping out methane. This would've had a profound effect on the atmosphere at the time, meaning there was a trend of global warming happening during their lifetimes. Would they have realized this and stopped farting? I don't know. Probably not. But, when the earth was hit by that Texas sized asteroid and a cloud of radiation-blocking dust entered the air, the earth gradually reached a point of balance and the dinosaurs were killed off, with Mammals slowly reaching global superiority in the following 65 million years. In case you didn't catch it, I'm a believer in the nemesis theory. Could it be a coincidence that every great age of animals was dealt with by a mass extinction? Yes. But thay's not as entertaining as knowing we've got to do something about an asteroid or other catastrophic event that will eventually claim us.

Asteroids won't hit Terra, the Emperor of Mankind wouldn't allow it.

No, the real challenge before us is to perform enough Exterminati on infested planets to rid us from the taint of Chaos and greenskins.

That's easy! We just wrangle ourselves an asteroid and send it to another planet with life on it! Then, we wait until the dust clears and move in while the planet's still reeling. If the greenskins are still there, we either convince them that it wasn't our asteroid, or finish the job.

We need to kill Eldrad as well if we wish to avoid what happened on Armageddon.

That's why I've always maintained that Farseers are horrible creatures. Right you are, cleanse, purge, KILL all xenos, mutants and heretics!

I should probably either hide my 3,000 point Alaitoc army, or finish building my Dark Angels Ravenwing army.

I'll soon be painting my very first Warhammer army, a bunch of dwarves I'll get cheap from a friend. Despite my previous comments I'm more of a fan of Chaos, and will likely get my hands on some Warriors of Chaos once my financial situation allows it, but the dwarves will do until then.

They'll also be great for painting practice, seeing as the only figurine I've painted so far is the Eldar Farseer I gave my brother for Christmas. Fucker always plays Eldar in Dawn of War and I've thus learned to hate Farseers with passion, so it felt appropriate.

Aw, geez...your Warhammer reference completely sailed over my head. I should start playing again.

I used to play Warhammer. Still occasionally do a bit of painting when something particually good looking comes out. The last one was Wulfric the Wanderer or something like that.

I don't like Warhammer. Too much money for poor people like me. Necromunda is good, though, as I can just get 12 figures (altogether) and use Lego as terrain.

Mordheim is pretty cool too, if smaller armies is your thing. I've only played one game, against a friend and playing with another friend's Chaos cultist army, but then again, I won.
