Doesn't a barter system involve goods being exchanged for other goods (and/or services) without involving currency such as bottle caps?

Anyway, a world without money would be swell. Just keep increasing taxes until we have a society in which food, housing, culture and perhaps transportation all is provided. When everything we require from life is already provided by the state, who needs to own anything?
