I think at one point today I may have appeared as a solvent abuser/sex offender. I was in a department store, looking for perfume to buy someone for christmas. I have a tendancy to ignore people around me when I'm on my own, and also it was quite noisy in the shop. One of my nostrils was blocked, which made me have to hold the paper sampler with the spray on it quite close to the other nostril to get a good whiff. I'm also in a current state of lack of shaving that makes me look like quite a suspicious type - I can't quite cultivate a manly beard so what does perfunctorily poke through my face makes me look like the kind of man who would show up at the end of a kid's disco even though he has no children of his own. To top this off, I was wearing a black thermal fleece - hardly the height of fashion - with a very crumpled t-shirt underneath; which in no way aided my general appearance.

So during my deep inhalation, pressing the paper sample all most into full contact with my left nostril, I was dimly aware of someone saying something to my right - but I thought they were talking to someone else. Upon a second inhalation, this time maybe half closing my eyes to fully enjoy the aroma, really sniffing the perfume with some force I heard quite audibly "Are you okay, sir?" I clearly looked like I was either sniffing the perfume for some weak solvent based high or because I really, really like the scent of ladies' perfume - the emphasis she put on okay told me that much. Though in hindsight humorous, it certainly wasn't the proudest moment of my life.

On the plus side, Skyfall was good. Not great, but good. In which case, I bid a pretty Skyfall evening to you all.

I get dancey when I have a tendency to do things, hence I merged the words and this is in no way a lie to thinly cover up my gross spelling error. For some reason IE - or at least whatever version of it I'm using - doesn't have spellcheck so I tend to spell things how I think they are spelt and only bother to check spelling when a word is overly complicated, but some slip through the net. Also, I don't have to explain myself to you!
