To be honest with you, the only Scandinavian cartoon that I know are Pipi Langkous, and Vrouwtje Theelepeltje* (and now Mumin as well.) Now because most of the non-English cartoons were dubbed into Dutch, it could be possible that I unnoticed saw cartoons out of Scandinavia.

* I only know the Dutch name of these series.

 

Pipi Langkous is Astrid Lindgren's famous child-book heroine Pippi Långstrump. Those books and movies are cultural treasures here in Sweden.

 

Is that Pippi Longsocks (?)? The redheaded girl who lives by herself vagabondishly in a house, meets two curious kids etc. etc. (been a while since I read that book)

 

Pippi Longstockings! I loved that book as a kid! Not as much as I loved The Secret Garden, mind you, but still a lot.

 

I loved the part where she tells the kids that her dad's a pirate, and her mom's an angel, and then they walk around the house expecting to actually meet them. It was awesome when I was a kid...

 

Apparently she filled out as she grew up.
