Whats the official rules on Sigs here? Specifically; Size Restrictions Content Limitations Format Type (JPEG, GIF, etc) Links etc... I figured there'd be an FAQ or something, but I couldn't find it. I found a few entries about height resrtictions of 255, but thats about it. I'm specifically asking about animated gifs in the sig bar, but figured I'd ask about the rest in case someone else had similar questions.
Hey, thats pretty cool, but I dont think it fits your persona. Maybe if it was a red cow. With horns and teeth, or fire shooting out its nose. Not to worry though, the animation stops playing when I overlay other gifs on top of it, probably cause I dont have a proper gif editor. I was trying to keep the fire in the background burning after imposing two gifs in the foreground:
What can you say, power corrupts. Do you guys know of any good (and free) gif editors that are worth a damn?
Fireworks 3. Except it won't be free for you. It was for me though and that's what's important here I think. After all, you didn't really specify whether you meant free for you or for the person who was able to get it.
Like I said, power corrupts, even innocent happy cows. Yeah, I tracked down that program and they want $200 USD for it! For that price, it should design the damn things for me. How'd you get it free?
Yeah, that sounds like a great idea, but I already max out any deductions possible, or I'd claim it for web-design. I was hoping to find something like this: http://www.getpaint.net/index.html which is a nice mod to the standard MS Paint, and works well for your jpeg needs. I've found a few gif editors out there, but most of them suck. Maybe I'll get the free demo and work fast.
PhotoFiltre: http://photofiltre.com GIMP: http://gimp.org or GIMPshop: http://plasticbugs.com / http://gimpshop.com / http://gimpshop.net or CinePaint: http://cinepaint.org --- InkScape: http://inkscape.org I don't think you will need anything else. (Though animated GIFs sux)
Where are *any* of the forum rules posted on the site? I've seen references to various rules when searching old threads but I've somehow failed to see the place where they are displayed.
The signature shouldn't annoy me either as I'll annoy mathboy with my complaining about it... As for the rules: This is the closest you get. But basically, you can do whatever you want as long as you're not flamed for it afterwards. So the only rule is if members who's been here for sometime flame you for doing something, or tell you this is a no-no, then simply don't do it again.
Is it just me, or did reading that make anyone else want Jarinor to come back? And yes, he was still around when I joined.
If you're talking about 21 Feb 2006, then he wasn't still around, he might have come back for a while, but his moderator powers were removed in November -05 because he had left.
I did see him post in several topics in which I had already posted. I didn't know that he was no longer a moderator at that time, however.
Even though Jarinor is apparently retired does the consensus against 'gravedigging' remain as before or is it now more a of common sense "don't revive an old thread unless making a new one would be obviously less effective" kind of rule?
My attitude is, if you're posting something worthwhile, I couldn't care less. However, if all you post is "LOL", prepare to die.
