Shrine of Halcyon Troubles

Hi all. This is my first post on this forum and I'm sorry if I've wacked it in the wrong area.

My problem is that I've trying to do the Ultimate Blessing
I'm up to Halcyon. I've got a save where I'm about to leave Vooriden and Murgo is in my party. I get to the quary, kill the apes, grab the stone and get back without a problem.

I've tried multiple times with the stone in Murgo's inventory and mine when I return it to the priest but when I try to activate the altar, nothing happens. The restored shrine also still has the caption about it being too worn to see what I must do. The priest isn't much help either. Any thoughts?

How about you list what patches/mods you have installed?

 

I've got the latest unofficial patch running and that's it.

 

Hello Mr Cranson, did you install the latest official patch and then the unofficial patch?

 

Drat. No. Should I until Arcanum and then repatch it all or try and remove the unofficial patch and then repatch with the offical one first?

 

The latest unofficial patch specifically checks whether you have the official patch or not and doesn't install if you don't.

Some versions of Arcanum (like the GOG version) already include the official patch.

Anyway, no idea. This is an old bug, and there are many causes for it.

 

If you're sure you made no mistake in the offering sequence so far (Ter'el -> Makaal -> Alberich -> Geshtianna -> Halcyon), you can try out this trick.

 

I'm quite sure I've done them in the right order so I'll try the scroll thing. Any idea where I can find a See Contents scroll, though? :-?

 

The magick shops in Caladon and Ashbury both have a 22% chance of having a scroll of See Contents in their stock each day.

 

Hello, as it is obvious, I am a new member. However, I have had this game for a while, played it frequently when i first bought it, and didn't care to look up for any sites such as this one that had helpful patches and mods to add to the game. The reason why i am on this topic is because I was browsing the site's forums as the main page was down and stumbled upon this topic.

I decided to start playing again, and I am currently having trouble with this same quest. I have gone through the correct sequence of Pagan Gods so far: Ter'el, Makaal, Alberich, Geshtianna, [and stuck on] Halcyon (however i don't know the rest of the sequence because of the main page being down).

Furthermore, [in this order] I have installed The Official Patch (since my game was an older edition), Drog's Unofficial Patch, The High Resolution Patch, a 'Shop Inventory Hack', which I downloaded off of 'Muro' in another topic, and a patch which allows me to go beyond the default maximum level cap (provided by 'Xz').

In the process to receive The Ultimate Blessing, I have the same problem as "A.Gentleman" had, but i cannot use this certain trick to buy the See Contents Scroll from the Magic Vendor's in either Ashbury or Caladon (since i have 100 TA, and probably over that considering I'm fully tech concentrated).

I'm considering i may be shit-out-of-luck with choices to make, but i understand that I may have brought this glitch on myself with all the patches combined. I know I can use the Editor to change my M/T Aptitude, but would consider this last-resort. If anyone can offer some advice or another trick (hopefully a tech alternate of See Contents Scroll), I would appreciate it.

 

The spot trap master in Tarant also carries such a scroll. I can't remember if it was in his chest or in his inventory though.
