Morrowind.

We meet again.

I played that game for a while, but the plot didn't take long to work through, and it was near impossible to get to the right place at the right times (there was that monastery and Azura's temple, which you could only access during certain times of the day).
And all the NPCs said the same things.
And all the quests were catch-and-carry...


But it was a gorgeous game and I couldn't tear myself away from the pretty scenery.

 

I was planning on getting that soon actually. Should I get it?

What a coincidence! I just started playing Morrowind again. I never did finish the main quest.

It's exactly how I remembered it: juicy graphics, drippin' atmosphere, dry quests. Man, if only they put some variety into them this game would be so much better. Currently it's either

• Hey. You. Take this to X and come back here.
• Hey. You. Go to X and kill Mr. Y
• Hey. You. Go to X and tell Mrs. Y about Z.
• Hey. You. Go to X, buy me some A and come back here.

You get the point.

The game isn't without it's funny moments though. Just enchanted a pair of Exquisite Sandals with constant-effect WaterWalk and a pair of Exquisite Pants with constant-effect Swiftswim (it's funny because I find walking on the water as a shortcut to anywhere funny. It's funny because I named the pants "Speedos of the Iron Thorpe".)

Oh, yea if anyone out there hasn't tried enchanting an amulet with C-on-U 80-100 Jump (3 secs) + 5 Slowfall (5 secs), you haven't played the game yet. Spirit of the Grasshopper.


I haven't found the talking mudcrab yet though. Hope I haven't killed him. I have this hobby of running through the countryside and indiscriminately throwing Area-Effect arrows at native creatures 8)

You forgot my personal favorite, "Hey. You. Go to X, find Mr. Y, and and escort him back here."

It's my favorite because, after trudging around for a really long time, I cheated and increased my speed to 300. Made everything muuuuch easier... except escort quests. They always got lost.
Fun!

Oh, and tzehoong, finish the main quest. It's worth it just for the pretty environments in Dagoth Ur and Azura's Shrine.

 

I forgot the worst ones of all:

"Hey. You. I'm X. Help me find Y."

Which is to say you stumble across X in the wilderness and X gives you some dumb instructions ("I think he's north of here") to X's husband/enemy/friend Y. North of here. What a JOKE. I can spend hours doing these dumb quests.

I found the Mudcrab yesterday!! WOHOOO. Southeast of Suran, behind some Dwemer ruins. I punched it and let it follow me all the way into Suran, in front of thesilt strider. It took one hour, but now I finally have a way to convert all my assets into gold. 400K. Yeah, life is good.

My speed is 100 and I still move too slowly for my liking. The Jump Amulet I made eases things though.

 

I don't care about my speed that much I just go around enjoying the scenery
