Hello everyone ^.^ im new to the board...and have looked through several hundred posts(yay...) but i was wondering, has anyone ever tried to implement something like a romance script(similiar to baldurs gate 2)? i dont know alot about scripting but ive seen it done several times with different games, and if anyone out there has done it i'd love to use it ^.^
1) It's possible. 2) No-one's done it (that I'm aware of...?) 3) If anyone has done it, it'd be ChrisBeddoes. 4) I just wanted to have an extra point. 5) See point 4.
I hate to expose my ignorance, but since I'm unfamiliar with Baldur's Gate 1 or 2, what did you have in mind, neko_chan_Tx? I'm working on some mods and scripts and maybe I could work what you want into what I'm doing.
basically something along the line's of a triggered romance with an npc, ive heard talk of a ravena romance but seeing as how that's not especially my area(....into guys yes, poke fun and go on ), perhaps something like that, that would trigger a bit earlier in the game, at specific levels or places, like the normal dialog script is triggered when speaking with certain npc's, or entering a certain area....i have yet to beat the game(keep changing my mind on the type of character i want >.<) so im not exactly sure if there's anything like this or not.
Currently, all of the built-in "romances" are geared more for male players with a female npc. Of course there are the girls at Madam Lil's, and they swing both ways if you are into that, but that's not what I would call a real romance. Then there's the "celebration" in Geshtiana's temple at Stillwater, but again that's not what I'd call a romance. So if you want a romance between a female player and a male npc, someone is going to have to add it to the game for you - unless I've totally missed it. If I ever manage to get a couple of my projects finished successfully, :/ that might be possible, since I'll be wanting to add more female oriented quests anyway.
Sinbad's right but I'll just add that you can also 'swing'with Min Gorad and the Minsk widow in Caladon.
eh, you guys hit along the line...but was actually looking for something more along the line's of a male/male romance :-o
I understand what you meant and to my knowledge it is not possible. I was just covering those aspects that are in the game. As I just said male/male relationships are not part of Arcanum and I don't know of anyone working on anything like that, but this doesn't mean that nobody is.

If somebody was going to do it the ideal target would be Sogg Mead Mug and only with halflings because other races Gonna make poor Soggy gonna hurtz badz !!! Of course this would be possible only if the halfling PC discovers the ZECRTET quest ITEMZ " MAGICUS VASELINOUS " That is why poor Soggy was outed of his village and he is now limited to a life of drinking. Poor Soggy
lmao ok, that was crazy ^.^, eh, thanks for the info everybody, ill be playing around with it i guess((have made 2 failed attempts to initiate romances already...) but will let you know how its coming along ^.^
