Just a bit of research. Anyone answering the poll gets a chance to win an XBox¹

¹Standard not-a-real-competition terms and conditions apply.

I'm sorry, but you've been disqualified, as per terms and conditions. Thanks for voting, though. Have a nice day.

No offense taken. It's all in the T&C's I'm afraid. Nothing I can do about it. She broke the "Terra-Arcanum users may not enter" rule.

I just voted. Do I qualify, as I am not a TA user but an abuser?

Indeed you do qualify. Let me see ... no, sorry, you weren't the winner. Hard luck. Thanks for entering.

Sorry, in accordance with the clearly displayed T&C's, no votes can be returned. You are free, however, to bite me.

Finding out your screen res is not hard even from a complete standing start. Including a "Don't know" option would have encouraged unknowledgeable people to remain ingnorant. Not including it means you either have to not vote (noone loses or wins), look it up (we both win), guess/lie (we both lose). Your choice.

If you want a starting place, check out the whatis.com description

OR (for a less verbose description) look for its definition in Windows Help

1280x1024 for Windows and other stuff

Straight 4-color CGA for games, though.

    Nah, I'm exaggerating. Slightly.

With newer games I have to run at 640x480 or 800x600 to get smooth animation. Although a few games run pretty good at higher res. MDK2 runs smooth @1280x1024x16 with bilinear filtering.

    Between noon and 4.30 pm.

Only kidding, I meant what res do you use for your desktop?

If you've got a reasonably modern graphics card (GF2/3 or newer) then try running in 32-bit mode, you should find you get slightly better performance. Also, you should be able to run in a higher res if you turn off shadows and particle effects - they're the two that take up the most processing power if your card doesn't have the proper chipsets for running it hardware.

    GeForce 2? Hah!

I have wet dreams about GeForce 2s!

I have a lowly TNT2 card. But not for much longer.
