My friend, the photographer, recently gave me some pictures I intend on sharing with you guys. Here are some from a movie shoot in Gettysburg. The movie is called Gettysburg: Darkest Days and Finest Hours. I never saw the completed film, and didn't get reimbursed for gas like I was told, but I did get to spend three 85+ degree days in wool army uniforms. I slept in my Cordoba.

From left to right, Jordan - Me - Joe. If I look uncomfortable, it's because it was over ninety. I had recently lead a charge (being captain), "Shoot the horses!" was my line. We had to take out the cavalry, you see. So, saber drawn, I start charging through the field toward imaginary horses, but real cannons. Jordan was lead under my charge in the scene, and he jumped over the cannon towards the union soldier. Then I said, "I claim this gun, for Company I!" Joe wasn't in the scene, but this was a photo opportunity.

The cameras weren't rolling, so I got to stop feigning death. There would be explosive squibs set up all over the "battlefield", discharging dirt to simulate mortars going off. I mean, it was a real battlefield, people actually died there, but I put it in quotations because we were acting.

Yes, I played both sides in the movie. So did everyone else, pretty much.

I have faith that you preserved that beard of yours.

I've had many beards. Currently regrowing my facial hair for the winter.
Though I must say, that was a particularly enjoyable beard.

When I was kid one of my stepfather's friends from his work had a part as an extra in Gettysburg. He was a history teacher and Civil War reinactor. I still remember his part; he's a union soldier and he gets shot as she's stepping over fence.

At least I think it was Gettysburg.

Man up and get a 24" widescreen like all the cool kids (that is, me) have already.

My 22" screamed in horror. Maybe I should have tried them in the 24" before running away.

My 22'' handled it just fine, quit complaining.

Anyway, possible Grossen spotted at 2.38 and 2.45. Apparently the Imperial Japanese fought in the American Civil War.

No, those aren't me. I think I'd have to watch the whole movie to be able to find myself. Nothing I've seen online has me in it.
And, the images used to be huge. I'm talking maybe five times larger. Or six. Magikot was in the right.

Wow, I just saw the Japanese flag. This movie didn't really turn out that well. Still, I have to watch it.
