I made a pretty bad error in my character development and am in need to increase the willpower stat by one mere point, but the fact that my char has circus runaway trait, even by increasing the ''base'' willpower to 20, modified e.g. actual number wont reach over 17. Funny thing that i wouldn't even need to use the cheat to increase the stat as i have 10 spare in-game learning points earned fair and square and only run the save game editor v1.8 in hopes to work around the stat cap, but all it does is the same that i could do in game anyway. :(
Are there any alternative hacking tool maybe?

Altering the background mid-game would do the trick. Say, changing its willpower modifier from -3 to -2.

If you don't know how to apply the modification, I can do it for you later today when I'll have access to the game files.

I was thinking the same thing but said editor only shows the background text in read-only mode. Is there a way to change it? Would appreciate your help indeed.

Indeed, nothing can be done about the background with the savegame editor since it edits particular savegames, while the change I'm suggesting is a modification of a game file affecting all existing games.

Download the modified effect.mes (the only difference applied is changing the willpower modifier associated with the "Ran Away with the Circus" background from -3 to -2) and place it in Arcanum/rules/ (you'll probably have to create the 'rules' folder). The game will use the new effect.mes instead of the one in its data files and your character will have 18 willpower. Use the savegame editor to subtract one point from your available character points if you feel like playing fair.

If you'll want to undo the change in the future, simply delete the new effect.mes file. The game will then return to using its own placed within its data files.

Fabulous! That's just what i needed. Thank you, Muro!

    Edit:
Unfortunately this doesn't work. Placed in custom 'rules' folder in both root Arcanum and Arcanum/modules/Arcanum folders to be sure and still can't increase above 17. Nor game or savegame editor acknowledges the rule change. :/

Ah yes, it would appear I gave you the wrong directory. It should go in Arcanum/data/rules/ in the main game folder.

    Edit:
    Quick Drog is quick.
