As for Saddam, I don't care how he dies or how long it takes, just so long as it happens. They've only caught him one one charge, and that's what he's being sentenced for. It was a failed assassination attempt on his life, and so he gets this one village and kills everyone. That's a disproportionate reaction if I ever saw one. As for hanging being inhumane, that's only the case if it doesn't break the recipient's neck when they fall. Severing the spinal column at that area paralyzes them, and the shock knocks them unconscious. They die in their sleep.
If anything, I'd make Saddam gain about 140-150 pounds, so that when he was hanged, he would be decapitated.
