While cruising the web the other day, my laptop suddenly shut down. Couldn't turn it back on, didn't know why. Upon removal of the bottom panels and subsequent removal of the processor heat sink, I discovered that a thick layer of lint had formed across the fins, prohibiting air flow. I also discovered that my motherboard had overheated, as evidenced by the dime-size area of cracked circuits and toasted board. It's an alienware, 2 years old with a 1 year warranty. I salvaged a few things (HD, RAM, CPU) but the majority of the computer is now in the dumpster.
while talking to my insurance company about my computer policy i learned that most companies won't cover computers in Iraq. too much dust.
last deployment fish's PS2 broke due to dust. thankfully, some moron decided to leave a brand new one behind, and fish swiped it.
The Middle East has always been notorious for extremely easy to acquire entertainment items anyways. 'Cept I could never play Age of Empires II online because it turned out all the copies of it that lined the shelves in Syria were pirated versions.
What? Half of the people who play AGEII online have pirated copies, the game only requires half of the players to actually have their discs inserted.
I already have it for Quake 3 because of that "No Response" bug (I have the real All-Canadian version, and it still does that. D: ), I just never tried it for AoE. I'll have to do that soon.
