As you know, if you get the Bates Mansion, all you wind up with is a big empty house. Has anyone succesfully tackled the detail of new servants and guards? If so, then how? As a beginner, I can only think of three ways, gathering NPCs with a "forever" wait tolerance and then have them wait where you want them; script in (somehow) you buy slaves and they assume the role you designate for them (including wanders and bed); or say after sleeping the first night in Bates' bed you find a handfull of people waiting at the gate that you can hire. The first one doesn't sound very satisfactory. The other two sound like they would be a screaming bitch to script. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Sidenote: Using RedViewer I noticed that if the two views of a bed (empty and occupied) are played at a fast enough speed, you get the general illusion of sex in progress. How could I use this instead of the blackout during the sex scenes?
Put lots of critters in the building but have them toggled off. Heartbeat checks for flag X. You can speak to someone in town to hire more servants. This sets flag X to on. The critters in the house are toggled on. For the beds use "change art num of (obj) to (num)".
Far out. I was hoping there was a fourth option on the mansion. Thanks. As for the bed - Script in a toggle off for the PC and NPC?
I'm not sure if toggling off the PC and followers will cause bad things to happen. Such as accessing an inventory that no longer exists and crashing the game. Let me know if it works for you.
