    hi!
i use message previews because i write before i speak a LOT! :) but i've had a problem. if i preview before i submit my message, which i think is how it's supposed to work, eh? ;) ... well, i get a nice lil preview of my message, but then i have no way to submit it! the topic box is empty, pressing "submit" gives me a message that says something like "you must write a message before you can submit", if i try to copy the message in the "preview pane" it won't paste into the box. so then, i'm condemned to retype it in.

so, am i a total dorkette and missing something totally obvious? :(

    thanks.

    V***V

ps: repeating "i will not preview, i will not preview" to myself doesn't work because i have no short term memory left. :D

The preview option works perfectly for me. I tried it with this message, and I don't see any problems... in short, it's a problem I can't reproduce. Could you try again, experiment a bit, and give me some more info? I haven't heard about any phpBB bugs that cause the preview option to malfunction, and this version has been out for a while now (and is used on a fairly large number of high-traffic sites which would be sure to notice a problem like this).

    Hit Post Reply.
    Type reply in box.
    Hit Preview...
... New page loads with current message up top and edit box down below.
Edit box has message text in it.
    Add extra message text.
    Hit submit.

    Works for me too. :)

What version of whatever-internet-browser are you using?

I could do it with Internet Explorer 3.0. You're not doing it right would be my obvious guess.

    Unless you're using Netscape.
