Can anyone supply me details on how to do this? And what the requirements are? I checked the walkthroughs and NPC informations (in another site) and there are hardly any details. I did a search but nothing came up. I've read lots of threads were some of you guys take Chukka to pair off with Sogg (which I think is a good idea if you want "muscle"), but no details as to how they got Chukka into their party. And I want that ogre to pair with Sogg. I made a half-ogre character (an intelligent one though) and want ogre guys only. Is it true that you can only recruit him much later? He's only level 16! I can manage that level even without taking advantage of the game.
You get him just after the Isle of Despair, or just before (I think before actually) Talk to bates, I think you ahve ot have high persuasion or Charisma, he says 'You can ask Chukka here if he'll go with you, he's good to ahve around in a fight" And then you talk to Chuckka, and if you're evil he says "Me no go with Bad woman"
Chukka I forgot most of it but, I think Bates tells you take Chukka sometime around the whole Black Mountain thing...something like "You may want to take Chukka with you" or whatever,
Chukka Hmmm, I never encountered that dialog tree. I've finished two characters, and have tons more in progress, most of which are well beyond the Isle of Despair portion and/or the BMC. I finished once with a persuasion master, but I made him master at the end of the game just to do the Caladon talk quest. Anyone have any specific details as to what are required? Do I have to be a persuasion expert or something? I'm loathe to build my half-ogre to be a persuasion guy and then not be able to recruit chukka anyway.
I dunno, I only recruited him once, just make sure you ask him everything, and if nothing else works jsut try talking to Chukka after talking to bates and getting the Isle of Despair quest.
he says that if you feel your persuasive powers are up tyo the task you my try to get chukka so I gues you need that
RE: Chukka I just loaded up a saved game right after coming from the Isle of Despair. I then edited my character to CH 20 and Master in Persuasion. No new dialog thread appeared! Maybe I only have the opportunity BEFORE going to the Isle of Despair? Can anyone please confirm/deny this?
when you talk to Bates before going to the isle of dispair, if you have a follower slot open Bates will offer you the services of Chukka (not sure about the persuation requirements, but a cha of 12 and expert in persuation did the trick)
