Around here, Hash isn't really more expensive than weed (maybe 20% at max). I'm not much of a hash smoker myself, though. I was, two years ago, but lately I've been sticking to weed.

edit: Oh, and one more thing: Hash is actually made from weed, the way I underastand it. It's compressed or something which creates a brownish bar with a much higher THC concentration (THC is the stuff in weed and hash that gets you high). I've never actually seen it, but an ex-housemate claims you can rent those machines at some grow shops here, allowing you to turn your home-grown pot into hash.

How much do you find pot smoking affecting you? Not a great deal, I'm-barely-surviving-university, or somewhere in between?

weed really messed up my concentration. I could not study enough.
But it is one of the greatest things.
Calis: do you smoke normal weed or the "every thing is funny" weed?
BTW I smoked weed through a year at home only playin Fallout. That is why I keep talking about it's "atmosphere"
BTW playing games while on weed is a blast, so is listening to music. the only bad side is my memory and my concentration are still recovering...
That it for now, gotta run to school

I smoke maybe once a month. When I was a kid growing up in Miami I smoked everyday. Weed makes me stupid(er) and sleepy, so I use it when the insomnia gets to be too much. In other words, for medicinal purposes only.
It doesn't have any real impact on my life. Like most things, it's fine if taken in moderation.

Thanks, Bryant. I have high hopes for married life (I have to say that now I know Lysa might be watching  )

While I can't say I have never done pot, I never made a habit of it and don't intend to touch it again. One of my brother's spent four years monged out unable to do anything, had mood swings, no real job, horrible money troubles, and all he did was weed and a bit of resin.

He didn't quit, but cut WAY down and now is just about to move into his own place and is a real nice guy to be around. He's even stopped asking to borrow money from me to by my birthday present, etc.

Drink - well, I lived with an alcoholic woman for a while (no relationship, just helping her out) and went out with a girl who's dad fell off a 15 year wagon just after we split up, so I have become a bit wary. Also, I've noticed I'm happier than most people around me now that I'm straight most of the time.

I'd have to say "somewhere in between". I don't think I'd work all that much harder if I would quit smoking pot, but I do think that smoking pot can screw up your day if you still need to do anything important. So as a rule, I don't start smoking early. Also, quitting smoking would be impractical for me, as a number of my housemates do it. It's just the cheapest way to have a fun evening, IMO.

You'd better just hope she doesn't read that. She'll hunt you down like a dog. She'll find you ... and she'll kill you.

It's one of her more endearing qualities.

She's got a whole world to cross. I'm not that worried .

Besides, I could attempt to dissuade her by telling her that I'm part filipino myself (I actually am, but you wouldn't know it. I'm like 9/32 filipino, or some riduculously small number like that, but I don't look at all asian...)

I never really noticed the difference: I get more of an "everything is funny" (high) feeling when I smoke pure weed, and more of a "sleepy" (stoned) feeling when I smoke with tobacco, which is what I usually do.

Sheriff Fatman - Congratulations and I hope you have a great marriage! Maybe pop over the river to my neck of the woods once in a while - if you can ever get over Putney Bridge in less than an hour, that is...

Jarinor - insult me all you like. You could obviously do with some sort of release by the sound of it. And don't stay over there, come over to sunny(!) London and spice your life up!

    Hahahaha...nice one!

There's always something you can say to make people change their mind - even if I have to resort to "I heard that Fatman was getting down and dirty at the whorehouse the other day, maybe you want to look him up instead."

, nah, I wouldn't do that.

Where you at, Reg? Your profile just says London.

BTW, I get over Putney Bridge in 3 minutes. Being a born-and-bred (and lazy) Londoner I don't drive

I'd like to go to England one day. Except that I really like sunny places, prefer to be hot, not cold etc etc etc.

Also, I need beaches in summer. Like the ones on the Gold Coast .

You don't drive Fatman? Why not? London too crowded or simply too hard for you . Hell, even I drive .

Jarinor - OK, you have a point - maybe the weather's not that great here...

Sheriff - I live in lovely downtown East Sheen, about 3-5 miles from you, depending where in Fulham you live of course. And I envy you not having to drive over the bridge. Many's the time I've felt like just leaving my car in the traffic and walking home! It's been a nightmare ever since they put in that 24 hour(!!) bus lane a year or two back - an almost 24 hour traffic jam!

Why walk when you can drive?

Oh wait, you just said so .

oh and fatman good luck, we do a LOT of wedding receptions at my work and the best advice i can give you is don't worry about it, i've had a LOT!!!! of couples stress and worry over the smallest details, just relax and enjoy the ride my friend and don't forget to laugh (it really helps)
    this may help.....

why does the bride wear white?

    to match the other appliances.

what do you say to a woman with two black eyes?

don't make me tell you a third time.
if that offends anybody, too freakin' bad it's a joke get over it.
but seriously fatman good luck and well wishes 0:)

Thanks, mrnobodie. Your advice sounds good, and thankfully I'm not the stressing sort.

I know what you mean about the weather, Reg, but Jarinor does have abit of a point. Here's two sides of the coin, both courtesy of my girlfriend:

    1) Just before she came here for the first time, she kept mentioning about the wetness of London (the whole world knows about it, right?). then she looked it up in on a weather site, and found that New Orleans, where she's from, gets 6 times as much rain as us.

    2) A few weeks ago she was pretty nonchalant about how cold it was. I kept saying "Aren't you cold, since New Orleans is so hot?" but she wasn't. NOW she is! Now she is worried what it'll be like in Janruaury, and I'm taking malicious pleasure in making predictions of extreme cold.

Reg partly answered your driving question Jarinor. While most people in London need a car, since only in the centre is public transport truly a better option. I live in the center.

Plus, like I said, I am lazy. Really, very lazy.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, Reg: I live almost ON Putney Bridge. I'm kinda like a troll.
