    I hear the word "dude" originally meant the asshair of horses and was what the ranch-owners used to call pretend cowboys who thought it was TEH KEWL and had no clue what they were actually called.

    Dude originally meant someone who strived to appear overly posh and fastidious, often faking an English accent in the process.
