The only way to stop Virgil is to be evil.

Can't you just dump him off somewhere till you finish Qintarra?

When you need to go to T'sen-Ang, just dump Virgil and then hire him back after your business in T'sen-Ang is finished. Since the leaving trigger is in the dark elf city, he will never leave the party if he won't go there with you.

Or, you know, you could just go to the Sobbing Onion after Virgil leaves your party, find him there and rerecruit him.

So, in short, the answer to your questions are be a dick and drink a lot. Tends to work in a variety of occasions.

Yes, but Arcanum is much better than that. There is no uncertainty; whenever Arcanum is played, the Devil does cry, one hundred percent of the time.

Whether he cries tears of joy or tears of sorrow is still under debate, interpretation depending on how metal your tastes in music are.

The Dante from Arcanum starts at level twelve, and if you ask him nicely he might help you get some stolen taxes back.

His white robe isn't as bitchin' as the other Dante's leather get up, but he's still nice to have around.

The white robe is my favourite in the game actually. A gun-totting priest.
