    Pumpkin Pies

    I'm a man who enjoys confections of pumpkin, especially;
    Pumpkin pie.
    I enjoy it so much, that I'm willing to try it from any source available (restaurant, store, etc.). Because of a recent change in my diet to improve my health, I began to try pies with no sugar added, and found that taste really depends on the pumplin at that point. That being said, I've found a place that sells pumpkin pie that I hate. I really don't find any redeeming values in this pie. They must've grown the pumpkins in some sort of hellish pumpkin patch where they're given lemon juice in stead of water. I was disappointed in the pie, and didn't want to waste money (by throwing out the food), so I tried to eat more of the pie. No deal. However, since I have a dog, and he also enjoys pumpkin pie, he wanted some too. I found out that he actually likes the sour pie, and realized that the grocery store is selling pie that a dog might eat. Amazing. Then, I saw the ad in my head;

    Why eat pumpkin pie when you could have pineapple pie?

    You've lived for the better part of a century without having had a single slice of pineapple pie?

    If I were you, I would have realised by now that my life hitherto had been wasted and empty, and used a straight razor to kill myself.

    But he'd have nothing on which to base his upcoming decision of suicide, having never tasted or heard of pineapple pie. It would be an empty death.

    Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I far prefer apple pie above all other pies. Om nom nom.

    I don't know about eating, but I've always enjoyed the personal, tender-loving-care that goes into the creation of creampies.

    I'm in full agreement with the Starman - Dutch Apple pie. It's fantastic.
    Pumpkin pie with real whipped cream on top comes in at a distant second.

    I'm partial to a well-made steak and kidney or steak and mushroom pie, but a good apple pie still reigns supreme.

    Apple pie is awful, pastry combined with disgustingly cooked apple is not appealing in the least.

    Steak and kidney is probably about the only one I'll eat regularly although I don't mind any other pie. Except maybe pumpkin.

    And that, my dear boy, is why I mentioned GOOD apple pie. When it's good, it's very very good, and when it's bad it's horrid. (Okay, I'll stop quoting nursery rhymes now.)

    Steak pie?! Color me intrigued! Anyone got a good recipe?

    Pumpkin Cheesecake > Pie.

    But for pies I like lots of different ones. It's hard for me to pick a favorite so 5 that I love are pumpkin, apple, cherry, boston creme, and one that my mom makes called dirt pie (can't find a recipe online so not sure if that is the real name. It involves lots of oreos.)

    I'll see if I can find my mother's recipe for one of the steak pies next time I visit. She has an amazing array of cookbooks, I'm sure I'll find something for you.

    In return, could I get the recipe for this 'dirt pie'?

    Boston creme pies are delicious! The more a vanilla custard is used in a desert the better!

    You know, I tend to hear that every time I'm with someone who's eating apple pie. They always claim that theirs is a "good" one and yet every-time I try it I get disgusting warm chunks of apple. No thanks.

    Ack! Custard! The other thing I don't like!
