Ok, this annother POP for an english asignment. Would a static society be a good thing or bad and why? Static society would be TOTAL order, like in Demoliton Man. Everything is predictable and orderly.
Depends on the static society you are talking about - there are so many different static societies, that you have to be more specific. I point out three cases, off the top of my head - Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, 1984 by George Orwell and well, Demolition Man. All different static societies.
and all three of them were rather scary prospects... i actually had nightmares about a brave new world... i willingly recognize the need for government, but it needs to stay the hell out of my life... i'd take anarchy over a static society...
I'd take a perfect communist government any day... Of course, it'll never happen. Communism can't succeed - human nature always screws it up. You had nightmares over Brave New World? That's surprising...I actually thought that 1984 was the scarier book...
Didn't read the others, but 1984 is scary no matter how you look at it. Controling not only what you do but what you think.... May true freedom never become dieing while still hateing something! _________________ [ This Message was edited by: Kandelon on 2002-03-07 11:09 ]
