Probably a pointless question... Problems with game saves.

I'm having a serious problem with saving the game. I know its probably not the kind of question that I can get help here with, but I'm really really annoyed and hope that one of you nice people knows how to deal with it. Here's the situation. I'm on the Isle of Despair, trying to save the game. It does save, but after that the "are you sure you want to exit the game" dialog box starts popping up all the time. I click "no", move a few steps and it pops up again. That happens to both autosave and normal saves. Did it happen to anyone else? And if it did, is there a way around it except reinstalling Arcanum?

 

It has not happened to me. There is a repair option on the install disk. There is also an option to uninstall but leave the saved games behind so they will be there when you reinstall.

Are you patched? Are you modded?

 

Not patched and not modded. Just playing the way I got the game. Thanks anyway, I guess uninstalling is inevitable

 

That´s happened to me too...and to other people, a common bug. I re-installed and that helped, so yea I guess that is inevitable.

 

Why don't you try hitting "yes", then re-opening the game?

 

The first time that happened to me, was when I started monkeying with the spells, and it popped up over and over until the game crashed. I fixed the spell and it doesn't do it much anymore.
