I'd like to have Doc Roberts as my avatar-thingy, but I don't think he's listed in the followers or character images. He IS your follower for all of 5 minutes during the bank robbery, and his image IS in the game.

    Thanks.

His picture is in Arcanum3.dat/rules/portrait under NPCDoc.bmp.
Just copy and rename, then add the new name to gameport.mes.

Its a reasonable request, but the problem is that technically he is asking for an avatar which is against the laws set down by the ancients.

I told them we should never have changed the avatar system...

I may look into it... since everyone could use that avatar it's not really the same as asking for a custom one. At least that's how I interpret our Constitution, and I'm like the Supreme Court.

Right. I thought it would be cool because some people wouldn't recognize it and I didn't see anyone else using it. NowI see that it wasn't ever an option. I'll keep checking the portrait gallery to see if it shows up.

... if I ever get my lazy ass to it, that is. :)

It's strange that we don't have the ole Doc's portrait when we have all (not?) custom portraits available already. Any other portrait missing in the gallery?

It is pretty strange, considering Swyft is a selectable portrait. She was even less of an influential character. What did she do, anyway? Whine about not going to Tarant, be bored, cry, and have her mom attack you when she finds out where her daughter is.
Less impressive than a guy who singlehandedly uncovers a plot to rob a bank, and actually helps kill the guys who try to do it.

And personally ambushes you if he finds out you robbed the bank.

We aren't falling for it this time :p

Neither for the "Hervor helps dwarves to occupy Tarant, city of fat elves. With great animation!" story.

No, you don't see it. You see the aftermath.

When the hell did I say it was animated?

Besides, if you go back to Qintarra after you've brought Swyft away from there, and you talk to a woman standing near where Swyft was, you can talk to her and spark up a conversation about her missing daughter. When she finds out that you took her to Tarant, she attacks.

Wanna know something funny? The first time I ever heard about either of those things was from one day visiting this website. This very site!

Nope. "Search for it in the dialog files instead of wasting days". No mention of Swyft or Hervor there, except their only dialog files.

Gross, it was I who said that Swyft's mother would attack you if she learnt where you'd taken her daughter. And frankly... I lied.

I know. And Vorak's the one who said Tarant would be overthrown by Dwarves, and he lied.
I just should've known better than to try the same trick on someone who took part in that particular thread as well (i.e. Frigo).

Yes you should've. Damn, I really wanted that Tarant thing to be true! It would've been awesome!

It would have made a lot of sense given Arcanum's lore, too.

However, that Hervor would feign stupidity through most of the game only to reveal his true self just seemed a little bit too far fetched.

Well, screw the Hervor thing. If you could persuade Randver (is that his name?) to invade Tarant, or persuade Loghair to do it, it would be awesome.

That would've been the sex right there.

And, by some strange twist of fate, female dwarves would've been visible for the first time; The reason you never see them in the mines is because they have perfect cave wall camouflage. It doesn't work as well in broad daylight, in the middle of a human city...but, God bless them, they're still trying.

I only added the Hervor thing because I knew that Frigo would have already killed him and would have to start all over again in order to see if it was true.

I didn't start over. Just took a quick look at the dialog files :p
