    Here's a question.

I want to play Arcanum on my laptop without using the CD. This worked just fine when I used the no-CD patch, but then I installed the level 127 patch. Now I can only play the game with the CD in the drive.

What I want to do is record an ISO image of the disc to the laptop's hard drive and mount it with DAEMON Tools to play. I managed to get as far as mounting the image, but when I try to run the game Windows gives the "working" cursor for a few seconds and then does nothing.

Anybody have any ideas? I can play the game with the CD but my laptop's CD drive is really loud and vibrates a lot. It's really annoying.

The kind of protection Arcanum has means you must use software such as CloneCD to mount it and then something like Daemon to run it.
I read up on this a while ago (precisely 2 days after my CloneCD expired).

Yep, MagicISO didn't read it correctly with the copy protection. I made an image with CloneCD and it works great. Thanks TONGS!

I suppose that would work as well. Arcanum only has Securom 4 protection though (checked with ClonyXXL), so you should only need to enable the Securom protector emulation to get it to work (that's how mine works).
