It's a sad day when we start learning things from Twitter!

Now they only need to do the same thing with Arcanum.

I've yet to understand why it wasn't a big hit in the first place...

I think he means that people felt the game itself was tl;dr.

Isn't there plenty of games that long?

It's not about the length of the game but about the amount of text included. "Reading is boooring" and such.

    This is just too rich!

I thought you meant Planescape, in which case people were indeed put off by the enormous mass of text present in the game.

I was gonna buy that, and then I found this.

Actually, I already own Planescape Torment, and while I do love the game, I never got it to run well enough to beat it. I read the book though. ^_^

From what I hear, the novel was actually pretty shite compared to the game itself.

Let me put it like this - if you liked the novel, you'll LOVE the game.

    Book was crap.

    Game is not crap.

But I agree with Xaio, if you liked the book, then you will absolutely love the game. IIRC, there are over 500,000 lines of text in the game, and it's one of the few games you can complete without a single combat encounter and even having the ability to will yourself out of and other people into existence.

Well, I'll have to fire it up, and try to make it run again.

    Not quite.
The fight with the key holding zombie in the first room is impossible to avoid. As far as I know, fights with Ravel and Trias are unavoidable as well.

I don't remember trias, but I know that you can avoid fighting with Ravel and you wind up getting a lot of experience and some bonus wisdom as well.
