That tends to stunt the growth of your penis. You're taking your future into your own hands, there.

Who needs hairy women when you have a hairy hand like I do?

Well, being that I rather enjoyed playing fighting games of all sorts on consoles when I was younger, I found it far easier to roll the d-pad rather than press each button individually. I may have had serious cases of controller thumb, but at least I was able to play the game.

Besides, where's the fun without controller thumb?

Certainly. Imagine walking into one of these discount stores, and stumbling across their electronics section. And then seeing 3 different versions of the current PS and Nintendo consoles, usually called something like PolyStation, in obviously repackaged boxes and at most 5 games, which are all of the variety "10 games in one!" and feature again, 1 or 2 sad rip-offs of popular titles from earlier consoles and 8 pieces of shit that took 5 minutes to code each.

You know, fighting games is exactly why I prefered the dual shock. I always found it easier to roll from one button to the other on the seperate buttons, on the solid one I tend to go from down, down forwad, to forward, and then accidentally to forward up, or something like that. At least I always do that on the X-Box controller. If you;re reffering to Sega or Super Nintendo controllers, then I won't argue with you, those feel the same as ps2 controller d-pads to me, its the teeny tiny dreamcast d-pad (which totally crippled what I considered one of the greatest fighting game systems, simply based on the variety of titles) or the friggin disc they plopped on the X-Box control-a-majig, and the Gamecube controller always makes me feel like I'm controlling a video game with a childrens toy, I feel like the next button I push is going to make the controller say something like "this is the color purple," or "the cow says ROAR!!!" etc etc Compared to the rest of what the current "cutting edge" of video game consoles has to offer, I think the ps2 controller rules all.

I don't have much experience on a GC, but yeah, the controller does look like a kid's toy. The Wavebird is nice and chunky though. I just couldn't ever get used to the PS controllers though, and I think I'm now permanently prejudiced against them. I don't care about the titles on that system, I cannot see myself ever buying a PS of any type.

Thats a shame, I really love old ps1 titles from around the first two years of its existence. Games like Star Gladiator, The Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer(the original), and Jet Moto are some really really fun games. Final Fantasy 7 is still one of the most entertaining... I guess... gradeschool level turnbased combat/adventure games I've ever played. Those were the glory days... Now what do we have? Onimusha? Final Fantasy 10? GTA3? No thanks. Not for me. (well ok, I have played my fair share of GTA3, but pirated for my PC, and its really not that amazing in my opinion). Blood is ok sometimes you know? But I think games are just missing the inane "Why? Just because!" formula of games like The Jumping Flash, and if any of these new games are in anyway "wackY" then you're probably playing some shit game like Jak and Daxter, or Ratchet Klank, etc. I mean, holy shit, the original playstation had WORMS, the ps2 has... time traveling samurais, anime adolescents with super powers, gangsters, and sports. Those first two years or so really were an era unto themselves.

That said I'd also like to comment on what I also see to be the decline of anime. I'm not sure what the last good anime I saw was, but it probably involved something other than 2 to 4 teenage characters finding love and saving the world, and discovering the dark secrets of their past all at once. Ok, so may be that could be applyed to some greats like Akira, but hopefully you know what I mean, Inuyasha for example, is complete shit. I used to turn to anime for creative, and original takes on science fiction, but now its all pretty much sold out. I think the last good anime I saw was 8 Man. Speaking of sellouts, can anyone spell "the Sci-fi channel?" Fuck them, whatever happened to Saturday Anime? What happened to the original sci-fi channel movies? Their late night programming is fucking awful now too, they have that guy who does the seances (not sure about the spelling, but you know where they try to talk to the dead) in front of a live studio audience. Its all bull shit.

    Ok, I'm done ranting.

(edit) P.S. yes this post was an indirect attack at Wolf, and its indirectness should not prevent him from throwing in his 8 to 15 bitter words.

I disagree on the anime part.

I seek pure comedy stuff these days, animes like Azumanga come to mind. I was, the anime resident freak on this forum, fighting away blasphemers on every step.

Although I stopped watching anime because I didn't have the time to watch it, there are some really, really cool ones out there.

Spriggan, Mononoke Hime, Spirited away and Jin-Roh The Wolf Brigade just to name a few.

The anime market is saturated with pervert comedies, rpg comedies ect. I love the practical jokes, wacky faces and the rest. If depth is what you always wanted, then you need to be more picky.

Great funny anime: Onegai Teacher. I just downloaded all the episodes, and have watched most of them. It's hilarious, especially the ship computers and their bizarre romance. Actually, it's only bizarre because they are COMPUTERS, but otherwise it's the most normal and uncomplicated one in the show. Marie is playing a guitar, and Minroru wants him, so they hook up. That's the way it should be.

You know the funny thing. I wouldn't have posted but for this part of the post. As I was reading the post I actually suspected it may have been, but I didn't care until this part. If this was an attack, what makes you think I care? Obviously I do, because I'm posting, but I'm not posting because I was attacked(not really) but because of the way you "attacked". What makes you think that because most of my posts are short, that I would give a shit about you making a long one, or even that I favored shorter ones?

    HE TOOK THE BAIT!

Actually it wasn't an attack at all, I was just trying to see if you could find a way to take it personally. Seriously when I read this last post you made I laughed for like 3 minutes.

You know, I have no idea what you mean half the time, bcause no matter what your intentions may be, you always sound the same.

Like that last post could be an attempt at a backhanded insult or comeback, or it might not be, but either way, 90% of your posts are flaming. So thats all the info I have to go on.

Spriggan is good, although that little kid weirds me out, and the end is just fucking weird. I enjoyed watching it though. I've really only seen what are generally accepted as the anime movie classics - Spriggan, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Ninja Scroll, but I've got to say, they didn't impress me overly much. The main character in PM just could not make up his fucking mind, and SA, well...magical realism isn't my favourite genre of story, so I'm not exactly going to be overjoyed by a movie, but it was decent.

I've also seen a few anime shows (Astro Boy, Evangelion, maybe others), and they were pretty good from what I saw, but I don't watch any on a regular basis (because we don't get them here). I love a good cartoon though.

What do you think of Kiddy Grade? I've only watched a few episodes (have all 24), and I don't know yet. Definitely strange, and stylish. Eclair is hot, too.

Scuse my gravedigging but only now have I played the demo of this game and I just have to share my 2 cents with the whole lot of you. ;)

    1. Graphics: it's great. Surroundings, enemies, weapons, top level.

    2. Sound: very good, I noticed nothing wrong with it.

    3. Gameplay: I prefer games with much more story and complexity to them. But that's what it was intended to be. I still had some fun with the demo.

    4. Performance: every single programmer on earth who design a game playable only on the top of the shelf computer available on the market should be ordered to play Painkiller so that he learns to optimize the code. This game looks great and I had not a single glitch in 1024/768 with everything maxed up and tons of enemies coming at me. Not everyone has alienware retards.

    5. FINALLY someone noticed that you shouldn't be able to pass through your enemies' dead bodies. Huge + for that one. Unfortunately you can pass through stakes shot into the wall. Pieces of exploding barrels do hurt you (which is good) but the glass from ceiling windows falling on you doesn't Well you can't have everything I guess. Still a definite step forward.

    6. All weapons (at least in the demo level) are actually useful, including the basic one.

    7. Overall: a great engine, hardly anything to improve I wish someone made Deus Ex 1 or Half-life like game using it.

Oh yeah, someone used her/his brain and thought of different prices for different countries. :) I probably won't finish this game but I'll still buy the original so as to support development team. They deserve it.
