I'd like to know what you think is the best way to get stuff.
Any clients that can deal with NAT issues without any port forwarding would be a major bonus.

My advice would be to stay away from Kazaa/Emule as there's too many fuckwits with mis-named files to get you to download to increase their share ratio, which is why I would reccomend you go with Bittorent, (there's lots of different bittorent clients so get a few till you find one you like). Some good sites for new movies and Pr0n are suprnova.org and digital-update.com DC++ is also good, but you need to already be sharing anywhere from 5Gig to 150Gig before you can connect to any hubs. As for dealing with NAT issues and port fowarding you'll have to ask someone who's not me.

Soulseek is my favorite. I like it because there are a ton of chatrooms and from those chatrooms you can borswe user's files at random, and people generally care enough to organize by band name, and album, so if you want, you can just right click on entire folders, and once the download is complete and the smoke clears, your files are neat and organized, labeled and in folders. I'm pretty sure this isn't unique to soulseek, but soulseek also has no advertising whatsoever, and you can control how many kbps you upload, and download at, so you can control how much uploading and downloading are slowing down your connection. also leave soulseek on about 24 hours a day, and my computer runs ine, compared to when i used to leave kazaa open for 4 hours and fucking hated myself, because kazaa seemed to like to eat up ram. Soulseek basically is bare bones file sharing, I really like it.

Use public bit torrent trackers if you want to get busted on copyright violations. It worked for someone I know!

Also, you're going to have to set up port forwarding if you want to upload, which you do because otherwise no one will let you on their torrent :).

Soulseek is the greatest. My sn on slsk, is... Sleek_Jeek. I strongly suggest entering chatrooms labeled as something that sounds like what you're looking for and then just searching people's folders, its way faster than searching. At least, it is if what you're looking for is at all esoteric; a search for Foo FIghters will yield results very quickly, but a search for say... 1905, may not yield results for more than an hour.

So yeah. I have weird and beautiful music shared.

I'm pretty surprised how few people use it, or have heard about it. It makes me feel like I'm somehow cutting edge. I think its a little confusing for some people at first, because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Morpheus, and Kazaa had, and thats exactly why its so much better. Its very stripped down, and efficient. And adware free.
