As a mage, I tend not to use the schematics that I find around the place as it reduces my MA. I have established that I cannot give them to my followers (which doesn't make much sense but that's how it is). So I have been storing them as you don't get much for selling them. I've got a nice little collection now and I'm wondering if anyone has come up with other uses for them. Ideas?
I don't believe using a schematic moves your TA/MA either way! It is when you try to make it, You'll have a certain percentage that it will fail in the making, I believe. When ever I find them or buy them I just put in learned schematics and go on. you never know when you may need something. Plus, that what the manuals are for at the university. Find out what discipline is need to make the item and then go buy the manuals and make it. Store the manuals in one of your chests (warehouse) until you need them again. This way you can make things and give to your followers! Parmanian PS sorry Jaz I didn't realize it was you until I refreshed! Have a great day.
The found / purachesed schematics will mot alter your MA one iota. Nor will a mage fail to make the item, as long as she uses enough tech manuals. Any mage should be familiar with the process of making weird things that she can hardly comprehend using barely understood books. Things to build for your techie / neutral followers include the almighty Pyro Axe & the Flow Disruptor shield.
