I've been here a few times and the dialog was always the same. I just came back from that quest and everything was different except the last remark. Anyone know how many different dialogs there are? Just curious. Parmanian
The orator quest seems to be based purely on your intelligence. Higher intelligence = more and better options. Beyond that, I have NO idea what you're talking about.
I knew it was based on INT and I always was at 10 and expert 3 ranks persuation (just mentioning) Thats what threw me off guard! Parmanian
I just realized that the others times I played with the monks background to get the extra pe at start. This game I'm using the protege' background to get the cha right off the bat. The background and intelligence may be a factor! Parmanian
I doubt the background has anything to do with it beyond the bonuses it gives. Maybe that's what you meant. Never mind. 10 intelligence is pretty low for this quest. Down a potion of intellect and try again. When I'm not being lazy I'll extract the dialogue file for this quest and see what all the variables are.
SPOILER::::::: The line that I have always had: "It is right and fitting......" "Hierarhical design principles....." "An issue of municiple bonds......" "We will bid the project......." "Probably a metal statue....." "Take an inch........" I don't remember what the new answers were but this last one I did only had 4 questions and still ended with the take an inch...... Parmanian
With IN 12 the choices expand except for the last line, it will contract so the "Take an inch..." is the only choice.
To get the best results take a potion, raise your intelligence to >18 and use everything you usually use except metal statue.
I don't think there's any dialogue you can get beyond charisma 15, intelligence 15, and three cps in persuasion. There also seem to be a couple of questions dependent on your tech aptitude.... But I could be seriously misreading the dialogue files.
I thought it only depended on inteligence. But I also had five in charisma when i did the quest so I wouldn't know.
Not exclusively, it seems. With 10 INT, 15 CH, and 3 cps persuasion, you get to say such flamboyantly gay things like, "You ask why? Why indeed? For shame...I say, "why not"!" I personally would never say such a thing in public. As usual, I could be reading the dialogue files incorrectly. So don't quote me.
i found a bug that will enable you get that rep regardless of your int: click on the guy and he'll say something to you. pick "i must depart"(or something equivalent to that) he'll then walk into the building and the people will respond as if you were making the correct decisions
I don't think they're responding to you, they're responding to the mayor. Are you sure you got the rep?
Kaed, don't gravedig. That means no posting in old topics. It's a big no no around here. Don't do it again. On a happier note, Welcome to the Forum :wavey:
