WOOHOOO!!! I had the demo of this game back years ago and have been wanting to buy it for ages.... Now.. You can download it for free (Epic megagames released it as freeware)!!!

If you don't know, this is a classic fighting game... I LOVED IT! Now, instead of being bored out of my skull because work is quiet, I can play this ALL DAY LONG.... La-dee-da... Ho hum.... Weehee!!

Get it from here if you want (6.8 meg):
    http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download ... .php?id=66

Note: When you play the game, you'll have to slow the speed down (hit esc, speed is in the menu there).

Woohooo!!! I am so happy :stoner:
I get to bash things all day long!! :boxing:

    Yes, we can see that...

I vaguely remember a 'One Must Fall' game from my youth...I had this other really crappy game that I played...maybe it's the same one...does it feature this insect-like creature which is green and kinda looks like a praying mantis?

Uhhh... I don't think so... It's one of those fighting games like Mortal Combat, only with robots instead. It's lots of fun!! All the clunking and banging and bashing that goes... Who can hate that?

Never heard of this game before... quite interesting. There're similar games last year, that you build your own robots and train them to fight (or take manual control) and fight AI offline or people online. I haven't tried that one.

Well, now I got my free robo-fight-sim. Currently practicing on the "punchbag" level...

    Thanks for the link!

Also have you experience some random crash to desktop? I have quite a lot of this on Win2k (in my office). e.g. go single player and move the robot select cursor around - boom! - CTD. Tournamet mode kicks me out too, though not always.

Well the readme lied... it said at the beginning that it will tell you how to make the moves - it doesn't.

No matter. I found these from a google search:

There have been a few requests for One Must Fall moves. So I thought it
would be a good idea to post all of the information that I have.

I have to apologize to the original authors of these thing. I kind of
lost their addresses and names so I can't give them credit

ALES@NETCOM.COM found a way to change the colors of the 'bots in
    2-player or 1-player:
use your keyboard in the 'bot selection phase, hit the 1,2 and 3 key for
'bot one's color (not keypad) and the 4,5 and 6 key to change the color
    of
    the second 'bot.

You can find the key combos in the fighter*.af.
    For instance, P25852 is "D,U,D+P".
2 means DOWN. 5 means delay? 8 means UP.
You can modify these definitions of moves for easy playing.
Of course, you should have a correct moves list first in order to find
    the right pattern.

And be sure to fill 0x00 at the end of key combos!

Yeah... Actually.. I AM getting that crash to desktop a bit... Only during a fight in tournament though. It is pretty rare... (This is on my work machine. Which has.. Ummm... Windows someversionoranother 98 I think..)

[Edit] And errrr... just be a bit careful when you post wads of information on the boards like this.... A simple link to the info probably would have been better.

Are you talking about "Budo Ken"? You fight lots of people (one-on-one) and finally come to the big boss who uses the same weapon as you do. And you have one bar for Health and one bar for Stamina (for more damage)? And you make special moves by pressing something like 4-6-Shift, 4-8-Shift?

IIRC the four weapons are: Bo, Nunchaku, Sword (Japanese wooden) and Melee.

I love that game... it's one of my favourites on my 8088. Pity that I don't have it anymore.

Anyone remembers (or knows about) D-Generation? A game about Bio-weapons outbreak and a delivery boy (who luckily has access to a laser pistol) trapped inside a 89-floor building?

That would be because Win2k is NT5 and NT blows unless you have a large network.

    Thanks guys for the links!

I found lots of really old games that I wish to get my hands on again!

You can get "BudoKan" and "D/Generation" from freeoldies.com! Also Prince of Persia2 (I have PoP1 too)!

Unfortunately the DGen isn't working well... after going through 2 rooms it quits with message "Hardware Configuration Changed! Reinstall D/Generation". Tried all possible ways, but no avail.
