...from Tarant University. How do I use it!? OR what do I need to use it?

(And the goddamn thing is 200 pounds? What are they, stone plaques?)

It works automatically as long as it is in your inventory. It will increase your chemistry expertise by (# of chem manuals * Intelligence).

And I'm pretty sure it weighs 200 STONE, which is 20 pounds. 8)

You go to a shop (like inventor's shop, healer, gunsmithy, smithy) and they OCCASIONALY may have a schematic to sell. Some schematic are much harder to come by than the others but the general rule is "when you need it, it's out of stock" :) When they're in your inventory simply use them to learn them.

Yes whenever you really want a schematic you can't get it and go on with the game without it, the next time you play the game as an "arrggg I hate taech dark elf with attitude problems" every time you look in a shop you see that schematic.

The books are how you use the found schmeatics. Each ingredient has a symbol & number in the corner. That is the dicipline & ammount of skill needed. As someone said, skill = IN x # of manuals.

You can use potions of IN to boost your IN by 10! BUT the manuals check IN when you put them in your inventory. Therefore, drink the potion then load the tech manuals.
