I just got the little dwarf from the Elf tonw in my pary and he has a lot of splls, among others all the force spells.

But, in combat he never uses them, only runs around trying to hit the enemy with his patetic melle skills and weak weapon.

How can i make him cast spells?

This is a question that I can't wait to see the answer for. (Sorry Trondrea I can't answer it for you, but thank you for asking it.) :minigun:

He uses them sometimes. NPC's got some kind of difficulty identifier thing. If they think the opponent(s) isn't strong enough they won't waste any fatigue on him. And the stronger the opponent the higher level spells NPC's use. For example that dwarf, he often uses Shield of Protection (only on himself, bastard) for a fight, and then turns it off right after the enemy's lying on the ground dead. I never seen him use Jolt, and neither the Invisible Force... though you can't always see the invisible can you? I think Shield is as far as he went in force... However he also has all the fire spells, and he uses them more. When the fight is a bit trickier then usualy he launches some Fireballs (usually one because he is low on fatigue when you get him...and wont be much of a caster anyway, useless little bitch he is)... With those fire elementals in the cave you have to find the dagger to kill that demon in Caladon with he used the best of the fire spells. That's a rare occasion, mostly for Fire Elementals or other really strong enemies (or if there's a bunch of weaker ones)... So anyway, he likes body of fire alot, because it's cheaper then Call Fire Elemental, in which case he turns into an elemental, and usually drops most, or all of his items, so you have to pick them up and give them to him. The reason for him not using the top spell is because it needs 100 fatigue, which he does not have. He passed out in most hard fights usually if he tried casting one spell and then another... for example he made a fireball then body of fire, in process of the latter he fell down flat... pretty stupid. Sometimes he called the elemental and then passed out, strangely the elemental still stayed up, though not always... musta been a bug.

    Hope that helps.

I get this. She uses combat skills first because she has more of it and / or her AI thinks the opponent has more of that skill needed for him to be killed. Like my Raven, she uses her spell only when the opponent is of higher level that her and/or do a lot of damages.

    thanks

but this sucks.....he never hits in melee so why bother useing it. He is lvl 35 now and has more than enough stamina to throw a few jolts from time to time. Hope they make a script menu of some kind where we can set the behavior of the npc's.
