I'm guessing that you don't know much German? Basically I said we could finish talking about whatever in German after I told you to stop in English.
I understand constructive criticism, however what you had said in particular was offensive.
And no, you didn't hurt my feelings. You did piss me off by insulting me after I had tried clearing up how I do things here. Don't worry about me, I'm a big boy. :)
However, if you honestly don't believe that any of what you said was insulting, then maybe we're too different to have much of any conversation.
Come on, now...was that necessary? "Writed" isn't even a word. That I considered especially offensive, and it seemed as though you were "dumbing things down" for me.
And, yes, my first post in this particular thread was quite vague. I have since edited it to what I had meant, as opposed to me being blazé about the whole thing. I had no idea you would have responded so negatively towards my post. If I had known that, I would have said right away that all you need to do is take your time with the game, and pick things up as you play. Unfortunately, at that time, I had forgotten that I had already compiled a working hotkey manual on my computer for Arcanum, which you see on the current page several posts ago. As irritated as I was that you had kept on implying that I didn't understand your first post, I still wanted to find it and put it up for your benefit.
And, here it is, the be all end all definition of my first post in this particular thread:
The phrase I used was, "I don't know why you're having a problem. I picked up Arcanum from a friend, disks only, and was halfway through the game in a week, and that was before I knew there were programmable hotkeys and aiming buttons and all that crap"
What I meant by saying all that was "The game has a low learning curve when it comes to controls. The battle system is what gets you, sometimes. I got about halfway through the game in a week, then found out there were hotkeys for aiming and special menu buttons." Yes, it would've been much morehelpful had i said this latter phrase. But, I didn't, because at the time I didn't think you would start telling me how silly I was to not help you out.
By saying, "I don't understand why you're having a problem," I was not saying that I didn't understand your problem. I said that I didn't understand why. Again, I think this game is very easy to pick up, and very rewarding when you're playing.
Congratulations on finishing the game, by the way. Which side did you play?
