After ignoring the game for years, I finally installed Arcanum. I like the rules system, but there is something I can't figure out. I'm currently in Shrouded Hills, trying to solve the mine quest. My character got tired, so I decided to go back to the inn for a rest. But neither my health nor my fatigue will regenate, they're stuck at respectively 25/27 and 3/21. When I choose 'rest until healed', the game fades to black and I hear the day/night cycle looping endlessly.

I removed all junk from my inventory to rule out encumbrance. The problem might be related to my character build: an elf with miracle operation, which reduced my starting constitution to 1. But even then it doesn't make sense, because I was able to rest and regenerate at the crash site.

Is this a rare bug or did I do something terribly wrong? I hope someone on this forum can help me.

Nope it is indeed your background. Constitution 1 has no regeneration rate of both styles. You can see this in the overview of your character sheet. You really need Con 2.

Assuming you have the human male with you click on him and he will heal you.

The mine quest in a quest that takes the visting of several sites. There are more of these types of quests. This means you can not solve it untill quite a bit later.

I see. Thank you, my fellow Dutchman. ;) Virgil's healing spell doesn't restore stamina. I'll have another go at character generation. I wanted to play a magick oriented character anyway, so a bit more constitution would come in handy.
