I have downloaded the no level hack, before extracting it to my game folder, which I think would be the root directory. I renamed what I also think was the arcanum.exe (it looked like a shortcut icon) but didn't copy it, as that option in the right click menu seemed to have no effect. It didn't seem to work on my current game, I tested by lowering the xp required for my next level. Then I returned to the game and it had not changed the xp need for my next level. So I lowered the xp requirement for level, 2 from 2100 to 1100 and started a new game. It was still at 2100. I deduced I had made an error somewhere in the install process. Could someone maybe tell me in very laymans terms how to do it correctly?

The mod files need to be in the right folders or it wont work. The readme that comes with the mod explains this. You need to rename the old arcanum.exe to arcanum.old and you must enable viewing extensions before you do this or Windows xp will add the .old before the .exe. The Rules folder should be inside the exitsting data folder. The mod does not install correctly in XP so you must do these things or it wont work. Just install it and use 2 explores to copy to the correct folders.
