I've been researching around and noticed a few topics related to the ridiculous fact that the game doesn't let you continue after the story. btw i added some skillpoints through a hex edit, pumped up my charisma and persuasion and talked what's his name out of destroying the world. and he doesn't teleport you back to arcanum, the game still ends. anyways my question is where would the data for non-teleport zones be if there is no AntiTeleport file. the only extra things i have installed are the official patch, and darkmagic mod.
Welcome to the forum, Narsus! If I understand this correctly, you've alteady pulled the Anti-teleport.mes but you're still trapped in the Void. That's because your save contains the info that the Void is a no-teleport zone. Try this: Go to your Sierra\Arcanum\modules\Arcanum\maps folder. There will be 85 to 100 oddly-named files in there. Select and delete them all. Don't worry, these will be replaced when the game starts again. Now start the game, select a save from before you went to the Void, and you should be good to go.
Actually rroyo my problem is the AntiTeleport file isn't there at all, i tried what you said but it didn't change anything. my Arcanum>Data folder contains Players, Rules, Mes, and Proto folders, which contain various files i've gone through again and again trying to find the antitele info to no avail. so i'm at a loss. team a, i got this name from a rather obscure medieval anime called Heroic Legend Arislan/Arslan hehe. Edit: after looking into it however the anime char seems to be based on the guy you're talking about.
Oh, OK - Unless you're playing one of the hacked games, you'll need to unpack the main Arcanum.dat to get to it. There you'll find it in the rules folder. If you are playing a hacked game, it will be in the patch1/rules folder. (Add the .dat extention and the DAT Builder will recognise it.) I haven't tried this part, and I'm not really set up to do so, but I think you can extract the anti-teleport.mes from a DAT, add the anti-teleport to the rules folder, and it should work. This'll save you from having to repack the DAT. Grab one of the database programs from the download section and choose your target. Locate the anti-teleport file, highlight it, and extract to to someplace. Exit the DB. Using a program like Notepad, simply delete the listing for the area you want to remove the anti-teleport from, renumber the remaining listings - if needed, add the file to the rules folder, then either start a new game or clean out the modules/Arcanum/maps folder. Good luck!
Well i downloaded the datbuilder tool (only .dat tool that works for me), found the antitele file..but the seemingly useless tool doesn't actually extract specific files..when i highlight a file and extract it nothing happens, maybe they should have called it a .dat viewer... it works if i extract the WHOLE .dat file, but the main one is a bit big for that considering i don't know that i'd be able to accomplish anything after going through the trouble.
