OMG how could I forget to mention:

Chaka Khan- "ain't nobody" , "I feel for you" and "Through the fire"

Shakira (yes she is new but I think she is going to be the latin madonna)- "underneath your clothes" and "Whenever, wherever"

Madonna- "Cherish" "Justify my Love" (what can I say it's a gay thing :p )

    Diana Ross- "Upsidedown" "The Boss"

Janet Jackson- "the pleasure principal", "Blackcat", "Nasty" and "you're so vain" the remake.

Vanity 6- "Nastygirl", "If a girl answers don't hangup"

This lyric from if a girl answers is too funny so please indulge me and let me share :) :

Vanity: Brenda how are we gonna get to the party?
Brenda: I don't know call up Jimmy he's got a car.
Vanity: But what if a girl answers? Brenda: Then Hang up! Vanity: But Jimmy says I was his girl! Brenda: Well if a girl answers don't hangup just talk about it! Vanity: Yes!

    Vanity: Hello is Jimmy home?
Girl (sounds like a man imatating a girl!): Yes but he's taking a shower....
Vanity: Oh I see did he just take out the TRASH?
Girl: No that's something he used to do now his takin out ME.....
Vanity: Oh I see well tell him he left his pants over here last night.
Girl: That's ok you can keep em cause he won't be needing them tonight!
Vanity: Well sugar I know about a great party why don't you bring us your car?
Girl: So sorry baby but I never go to singles bars....
Vanity: SINGLE!? Is that what you think!? Tramp I'm dating your DAD!
Girl: Oh well he DIED about three years back now ain't that just too bad?
Vanity: Well that's how we like them Tall, stiff and ready....
That's postively more then I can say for poor Jimmy...
Girl: That's because he was swallowing vitamin E. Now he's swallowing ME.
Vanity (upset): Oh you mean you're swallowing HIM. Why don't you just tie a matress to your back?
Girl: I'm gonna need it cause if I ever see your face I'm gonna fall and have a heart attack!
Vanity: All that's gonna fall is the wig of your head now what do you think about that!?
Girl: I think I'd rather wear a wig then run a motel for roaches, ants, and lice in my hat!

    Brenda(grabs the phone from Vanity):
HEY that's gone too far, hey tramp take a bath in puke! What's more you can kiss where the sun don't shine and if that don't work we can Duke! If I wasn't a lady I'd take my money and buy to a brand new face, then I'd take my underwear and stick it in your mouth and you'd love it cause you got no taste!!! ( )

Girl you tell your boyfriend Jimmy he can go get hit by a car, cause as far as I see he can't afford to bite the beat of this Star!

Vanity 6 together: There's TWO things we can't stand: Ones a Jive talk man! The other's a Jive talk man with NO MONEY can you dig it? CLICK!

Man I crack up whenever I play that song talk about a classic lesson in how to flame :cool:_

If it's heavy metal then it's definitely Metallica with their black album. Another "stronger beat" band I like is Offspring. However I prefer calm music myself. That's because I don't really have time to solely listen to music. I rather like somehting nice to play in the background while I learn.

Ok, in my defence, my wife is the one with the Celine Dion cd. She just happened to turn it on one day, and I just started to get into it. I've just listened to a couple of songs on it since then. Come on, you guys gotta admit she's awesome......... No?

Oh well. I don't listen to it anymore. I'm back to my bluegrass music now. It was just a phase. A rather feminine one, but still just a phase.

We've lost him forever to that middle-aged Canadian pop diva.

Celine Dion is not awesome, I can't stand her. I almost invariably hate pop music of all sorts (there might be a song or two out there that I can stand, but I don't know what they are), so CD's CD's (hehehe) are on my hate/don't ever listen to on pain of death list.

That album is AWESOME! I love that intro to Enter Sandman.

I thought that Smash was their best album - it has so many good songs on it, that it's impossible to resist. I've misplaced my 'copy' (read: taped version) so I'm going to try find the CD in store somewhere...

I've seen a couple people mention Metallica and their black album, which by the way is the last true-to-form work put out by the band. For a real treat pick up Ride the Lightning or Master of Puppets. See if you notice how much more influence bass has in the songs. (we miss you Cliff) on a completely different note, I must admit to enjoying Sarah McLaughlin (spelling?) immensely. She has a voice capable of inspiration, and I never heard her sing anything I didn't immediately like.

Kill em all, jump in the fire, garage days (not to be confused with garage inc.). For the real acid test listen to and justice for all and then the black album back to back (the same way they were released) and you'll see a fairly major difference not necessarily in the style as much as content. Black was a lot more commercial.

Metallica aside one I can't believe I forgot to mention is Queensryche check out operation:mindcrime for a semi religious experience, can I get a witness.

For the threads original question new music I have discovered
Theory of a dead man they are opening for nickleback currently I didn't get a chance to hear much but what I did hear I liked (actually better than I like most of nicklebacks stuff)
30 seconds to mars (this is Jared Letos band) pretty good surprisingly
    gov't mule liked it

    From across the pond
Peter Bruntnell What I heard reminded me a little of Tom Petty
Stereophonics I really liked this band although not my normal genre the album is called just enough education to perform
Also outside (way outside) my normal interest Sophie Ellis Bextor whom I kinda really liked really nice voice

The counting crows new album was pretty amazing if your a fan you probably already know if not check it out you likely will become one

Wilco Yankee Foxtrot the new Wilco Album got great reviews from everyone. I didn't care for it but since I was the only one I thought I would mention it anyway

Last Pete Yorn For some reason I really liked this guy but couldn't say why if I had to I think the album is called Music For the morning after

We all do. In fact, 4 of us (bet you can't guess which ones) formed our own rap group. We're not ready to cut our disc yet, but one we will. One day.

I fear and loathe almost all rap music.

Nevertheless, I must admit a few have managed to entertain me. :D

Most rap is cool but I never got into that "Gangsta Rap" Crap. To me it's the polar opposite of "Heavy Metal" They are both pretty vauleless as far as music goes for me anyway. But I do like pretty much anything inbetween these two polar extremes.

    Hey does anyone remember:

Asia!? Man their first album ROCKED!!! I true classic
