i havnt played arcanum much. right now i have a level 6 elf with 2 points in force, and 2 points in summoning. i have no idea what im doing. im just visiting random towns and doing the odd little quest. all the while being attacked by people wearing amulet things. ive decided to start again. i want to follow some kind of technological path. can someone tell me a good race, background, where to put points etc etc so i can start off ok. and could someone tell me quickly an overview of my main objective?
Get Virgil at the beginning of the game. Talk to him and with everyone you meet. Talk to everyone in the town and you'll get quests to nearly every town. Search open lands using the World Wide Map and you'll maybe find other sites than towns. Few restrictions in Arcanum control where to go. You can find passes through mountians and ancient sites not mentioned by the living. When you leave Shrouded Hills use the WWM to scan the lower quadrant. You'll find the Ancient Maze and Wolf cave that have usefull items and lots of experience though real tough. The Southern end of that area contains some features of interest.
At least you told ed3r it would be real tough! What has worked fine for me is to go as soon as I can from Shrouded Hills to Tarant, and THERE you can level up to a decent point without risking your neck. After that you won't have much trouble when you search the lands.
walkthrough one of the most complete walkthroughs is on ign.com or gamefaqs.com just look up arcanum and go to walkthroughs. ign costs money but its organized really well. Gamefaqs.com is good too, plus there are a variety of walkthroughs and some specific category of walkthroughs, such as if you want to be a lone theif for the entire game.
i dont think so the one on ign I think is by far much more in detail and organized much better. Its almost a walkthrough step by step telling you where to go and when.
hav you seen the walk trough on this page? if that isn't organized Then I need to be at a mental institution. and it does tell you step by step where to go and when.
