I recently download this mod, because it was the only one I could find that had the mods I wanted. Well, it works fine, but, thing is, this mod also adds a lot of the more powerful items early on. You can find some really powerful weapons, armor and items in the crash site, and the shopkeepers also sell some very rare items.

What I want to know is, how to get rid of this particular modification in regards to the items? Odd as this sounds, I don't want those items there, as this is still my first time playing through and, well, getting all the good stuff right away isn't very challenging.

All I know is that they are coming from the Arcanum5.dat file, and removing it removes all these mods. I've also unpacked it, but I don't know which particular file contains this mod. But I just want to get rid of this item mod, so, how do I do that?

So basically you want everything this mod has to offer apart from the inventory changes?
To change the inventory back to the original you need to replace the InvenSource.mes file with the original InvenSource.mes file.
Create the folder Arcanum\data\rules and put the original InvenSource file in it. The shopkeepers will now sell only what they sold in unmodified Arcanum.
Sinbad has added custom inventories to the list. By changing the InvenSource back to the original these inventories will be lost. This shouldn't be a problem though as it will only affect the stuff Sinbad added (in the cargo hold of the ship).

I can provide the original InvenSource file if you are in need of it.

Thanks for the response. It didn't work though. The items are still there. I tried an unmodified game, and it looks like I was wrong with the shopkeepers, as the items are just the same. It's with what you find in other places that is drastically different. One example is the Wolf's Cave, where one of the barrels has a lot of unidentified armor and weapons that you shouldn't be getting so early into the game. Could this particular modifcation be from another file?

Where did you get the replacement InvenSource file from?

All random contents (chest, critter and shopkeepers) come from the InvenSource file. The only items which don't spawn from this list are the ones that the developers have individually dropped into the container.

It sounds like you've messed about with the mod files so I can't really tell you anything more without being able to look at your directories. Sinbad did not change a lot of the maps so I think it would be easiest to simply ignore the few chests that are offending you.

I extracted the Invensource file from a unmodified file from the 1074 patch, Arcanum4.dat. But I guess I might be doing something wrong... Is there any chance you can upload the original invensource file somewhere, like rapidshare.de? Thank you.
