ok, i'm currently trying to make a new schematics that would allow one to create arrows.

i undated the schematics.mes, schematics_text.mes, descriptions.mes, item_effect.mes, those should be enough for what i'm needed to do.

then, i made all the changes in the right mes files and even copied a proto file (used the bullet schematic one) and hex edited the numbers for the right proto number and descrition but the game still won't show that new schematic into a shop, it kinda makes me wonder where i went wrong :s

if anyone got anykind of help, i'll be much obliged.

Not that i know about such things but..
I find when im creating things for my game almost everytime something goes wrong.
And then i find it went wrong because of a simple misstype.
    Could check that :)

    Hmmm.
Like i said i know very little about that side of module creation.
And you finding an answer here might prove somewhat difficult.
Unless of course TONGSyaBASS is around here.
He is the only one who seems to like helping people.
On a different subject entirely, i have a question for you.
Do you know how to put music and ambient sounds in?
<--- Is at a loss

    i'm sorry to say that i don't know :s

i'm somewhat new to this arcanum modding, i did a bit of this and that before but just involved editing some mes files here and there nothing too big like adding a whole new item into the game and make it works (that's what i'm trying to do with my arrow crafting schematic).

I don't know. Never read it, most likely never will.

Hrmm... aren't you supposed to add the item to the shopkeeper file, whatever it's called, as well?

Then again, I'm utterly useless at modding Arcanum.

If you are modifying an existing schematic then the shopkeeper will stock it without problems (provided it is in his invensource line).

If you are creating a new schematic with a new prototype then invensource cannot handle this. The only way to add it to the game is by using a script which creates the item in the inventory of a critter.

I assume you are using the first method. Once you have altered the schematic files they must be placed into the data directory. Anything in the data directory overrides the standard files in the .dat files.
    So schematic.mes goes into C:\SIERRA\Arcanum\data\rules
    Schematic_text.mes goes into C:\SIERRA\Arcanum\data\mes
    etc

thanks for all the helps :]

i wanted to add a new schematic but since i didn't know about the scripting parts i couldn't find a way to make it works, now at least i know which path i have to take.

as for modifiying and already existing schematic, i got that part figured out but thanks for the help nonetheless.

the AMTut doesn't cover the schematic part very well, it had left me with a few holes that i couldn't figured out, at least not for my "add a new schematic" thingy.
