So just doing P. Schuyler & Sons and Magnus drops his weapon, carries on fighting and boom! One of the zombies he's laying into dies in an explosion. Now no one was packing grenades and as far as I'm aware there are no explosive traps at the start of the second cavern area, even if there were the zombie hadn't moved from the spot where he had begun fighting it so it couldn't have tripped one. Is this random or do the gauntlets also have fireflash damage (maybe only for dwarves like the other benefits)? Edit: Just de-weaponed him and it happened again - as I said any thoughts? Was this effect already known about? I just tested them with my half-ogre who was going to be a fist fighter anyway and after killing quite a few zombies nothing happened, I presume the effect is therefore dwarf specific. If they do have fireflash damage I might remake my current character as a dwarf - the extra strength of a half-ogre isn't really as cool as fists of flaming death! Edit 2: After enough searches I found this (I think I put fireflash in the title of my searches before which is why I didn't turn this up straight away). This answers my question perfectly, I guess if the effect only applies to Magnus and the gauntlets I'll stick with my half-ogre after all. It's still pretty cool though, the amount of extra little details in Arcanum it takes you ages to notice always amazes me.
I never saw that happen, because I never left Magnus without a weapon (and if he dropped it, apparently the 1 chance in 20 never hit). Interesting stuff!
