hello people! I found a batch of mithril ore in the wheel clan dredge and what can I do with it??? Also how the HELL do I use the lockpick skill??? And why doesn't Virgil (3 lvl lockpick) use his??? This is my first game so I would ask for no major spoilers. Thanks
You can do many things with Mithril ore. Some people will ask you to attain it for them as part of a quest e.g.The elvan blacksmith in Quintarra. You can also make armour with it if you have the tech skills  To use your lock pick skill I think u gotta buy soe actual LOCKPICS then put em in your quick key slot then simpily click on the lock u want to pic. BEWARE!!- if you are not very skilled at this then you will most likley ''jam'' the lock on the door or chest, if this happens it will take a while before the chest becomes unjammed again. As for virgil, he's too stupid to use lock picks ^_^ hehe.
I believe you will also need mithril ore to make a key you will need sometime in the future for something. (trying to avoid spoiling things for you). So keep the mithril ore you find! Also, if you give virgil a set of lockpicks of his own, he should lockpick for you...but the chosen one's right - Virgil's stupid, so best to take care of matters yourself.
Yes, but I have a lockpick spell but it never works? And I killed the true Stillwater Giant, I have his pelt. Should I load and leave it alone? Or should I sell it to somebody? Feel free to use spoilers for this. Anyway, thanks for the replies, don't be afraid to use spoilers up untill Quintarra, I've just came back from there with Swyft to Tarant, and I accidently let the orcs kill everyone... eheheh. Guess I'll have to load.
Ah, the unlock cantrip spell? The spell works best the more magical you are. If you're tech, the spell won't work too well. Unlock cantrip also sucks because it makes alot of noise. If you're trying to pick a chest while someone's sleeping or has their back turned, the spell almost always alerts them. So best to get some lockpicks and put some CP's into the lockpick skill. Also try to get apprentice or expert (Or even master) on lockpicking as well, if sucessful thieving is what you're into. You can give the pelt to the elf in stillwater, and he'll tell you where quintarra is. But I think you've already found it, right? If so, you can go sell the pelt to Parnell in Tarant. He'll give you some money for it. Letting the orcs kill everyone in Tsen Ang isn't a bad thing, if you're playing as a good player. ;-) Just make sure you did all the stuff you needed to get done there first. You shouldn't need to return to tsen ang after that, I don't think. Hope I was of some help.
thanks for your comments... by the way, is that a condom next to my name? You know what, I've played all these RPGS and what I've noticed is that they get more and more complex from the RPG side and getting hooked into them, like getting into their world and characters gets hard. Fallout rocked because it had a decent mixture and wasn't as confusing as Baldurs gate (which I never finished, actually never played it for long) or Torment.
I liked BG II. -cough- But that is beside the point. I don't think it's a condom... I think it's a nail... or maybe something that looks like a nail. x.x
It's supposed to be a railroad spike, but it looks more like a tent peg. Just try squinting a little, or post more to get something else!
In T-Seng Ang it's Ogres that kill everyone, in Tarant it's Orcs. Imho this is quite a good idea unless you want to become master in any of the following skills - Bow, pickpocket, prowling, spot trap, gambling, persuasion, haggle, reapair, disarm trap.
The first thing i thought when I joined this Forum was ''why the hell is there a picture of a nail under my name'' HOW DO I CHANGE IT !?!?!? :x I hate that evil nail !!! lol What would be cool ...........would be if you create a noise diversion like some dynatime going off when you use the unlock cantrip spell, then I can theif more stuff ^_^
you change it by posting more, i forget at what point, but next youll get a dagger, then a crude looking mace, then a nice looking mace, then a bow with an arrow.
