    Just some questions....

    1. Which server do I connect to, and does it matter?
    2. Does it cost anything, and if so, how much?
    3. How do I join the #TA-Regulars channel?

I've downloaded and installed mIRC already. I just tried running it and came up with a whole load of confusing server options and countries and various other preferences that confuse me even more. :ponder:

They could at least have tried to make it user friendly! :(

Anyway, thanks about the cost thing - at least I don't have to worry about my dad killing me over the phone bill!

Read the instructions on the main page. Just go to the IRC section, and read how to join #Arcanum. Instead of joining #Arcanum though, join #TA-Regulars.

Expect to spend a lot of time with ManServ though if you don't join at the right time...

Also, why do you care about your Dad getting annoyed about a phone bill? Don't you live on your own or anything like that? I thought you was A MAN!!!

I've joined. It wasn't that hard - I just needed to know the correct server.

BTW Rosie, what did you mean by register?

As for the problem with my dad, I' ve finished uni recently, but the crummy job I've got at the moment (there are NO decent jobs in Biology at the moment, other than teaching :puke: , and research  ) doesn't pay enough for me to get a house or rent an apartment (House prices etc. are VERY expensive over here, especially in the south where I live) so I pay 'upkeep' to my parents to live here.

However, we only have one phone line, and my dad is connected to it, so I have to use his computer. He gets annoyed if anyone uses it before 6pm, because of the phone bill, and we kind of have to 'share' the internet usage after 6pm (he gets priority of course). This means that I don't get much time on the net, unless he's out for the night.

Basically, registering means you'd tell the gamesnet server to recognize you as "Ferret" (or whatever name you've chosen) as you. When you get opped over at TA-Regulars, which you will if you hang out there (everybody does), then you'll need to authorize with the server before you can do any of the functions.

    Hah Hah Rosie! Very funny!

I got the auto-econnect turned on now, and I'm kind of getting used to it now too.
